This place used to be Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa. I think the owners are they same since the same people still work here and the menus didn't change, only the name.
I've been here before with my family and for some reason...I was not a fan. It wasn't until I went with my girlfriends that I knew what to order.
Recommend: Bun Bo Hue House Special Nem Nuong (Make-Your-Own Spring Rolls) Nem Nuong Spring Rolls (Pre-Made..if you're feeling lazy) Banh Beo
I LOVE their Bun Bo Hue!!! It's probably the best I've had so far in awhile. They don't make it spicy anymore but, there is a jar on the table for you to add your own spice! It's not the red chili paste jar...there's another jar in a smaller container. It kind of looks like chili oil to some extent. You will know when you see it..or you can just ask them for the chili if they don't add it in your bowl!
I love Nem Nuong!! I prefer that over the shrimp and pork spring rolls. The House Special Nem Nuong Make-You-Own Spring Rolls is awesome!!! You can omit things you don't want in it or super stuff it to the max! It comes with 3 types of meats but I am indifferent about the others...I only eat the Nem Nuong lol. If you're lazy, you can always order the pre-made ones! I prefer the peanut/hoisin sauce over the orange sauce they give you so I always request that! They do not mind. :)
The Banh Beo is pretty good here! I don't order it often because I always end up ordering Bun Bo Hue and Spring Rolls! You never leave hungry.
The wait is pretty bad on the weekends! Lines are out the door...and you may have to share a big round table with other parties if you don't want to wait. I don't think it bothers me that much. If you're hungry, you...
Read moreCame here Friday night based on Yelp reviews, and because our son likes pho. First, they don't serve pho, should have read reviews more carefully. Their specialty is the wrapped rolls (Summer rolls) which is grilled pork and crispy shrimp with veggies in the middle, wrapped in rice paper. The dipping sauce is an orange colored, suggesting citrus, but unsure what it's made of. The rolls were good, with the softness of the grilled pork with the crunchiness of the shrimp going well together, and tasted even better with the orange colored sauce. We also ordered #21 which is a combination of pork meatballs, shrimp egg rolls, crispy bean curd, all sitting on top of dry rice vermicelli. To eat this we ordered extra rice paper, basically make your own egg rolls. It was okay, nothing special. We also ordered another specialty, #22 banh beo, which is steamed rice cake, ground shrimp, sauteed onions, and croutons, served on 12 little saucers. These provided tasty bites when doused with a spoonful of fish sauce. Lastly we ordered pork chop rice with steamed egg for our son, and it was just okay.
Overall a new dining experience, with the best dish being the banh beo, everything else just okay. Good service, restaurant was clean but seating was a bit crowded. Maybe worth a...

While "Summer Rolls" might seem fairly humdrum, they serve the same specialties. What used to be Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa now just puts it in the fine print: "A nem nuong restaurant."
If I lived in Rosemead, this corner would be invaluable to my life, with In-N-Out Burger right next door, but usually my trips here are for a getaway to Ninh Hoa, a town in the South Central Coast province of Khanh Hoa.
As seen here, the nem nuong platter includes more than just nem nuong. Those grilled pieces of sweet pork are the bulky charred bricks on skewers, but the plate also comes with cha ram tom, thin cigar-like egg rolls with shrimp; nem chua nuong, the small fermented pork sausage seen at the top; and nem cap, more pork wrapped in banana leaves. While it is perfectly acceptable to eat it directly, the magic of the spread is the DIY nature of making your own rolls. A plate of rice paper comes ready to be dipped in water and wrapped around your choice of meats and greens from the mountain of herbs and lettuce that...
