Sadly I understand customer service in many establishments has plummeted over the last 12-24 months. I get it. Unfortunately it’s our new reality for now. But keeping your hours accurate, or at least employing workers who keep your location open and operating when they’re supposed to be there should not be that difficult.
You’re open or you’re not, which is your call, and closing earlier than many would expect is fine - as long as it’s consistent and posted. It should only take a few keystrokes online to update your hours.
So if your publicly posted hours - including on your own app and website - say you’re open until 9PM, it’s a bad look to be “closed” at 8:30. I say “closed” because it was pretty obvious your employees were supposed to be working and have the lights on. Instead they’re literally running and hiding behind the wall next to the drive-thru lane, watching the cars pulling up to an orange cone instead of someone ready to take their orders. I can’t make this scene up, nor can I even remember the last time your dining area and counter were open. It was about 95 degrees outside. How much business did you lose just last night?
It’s a bummer because this location was often very consistent, with friendly staff, and typically the latest hours of any DQ in the area. Then a switch flipped and poof… it’s been a mess ever since. Maybe new ownership? This latest episode wasn’t the only time employees here have shut down early. On another occasion they said they were “short staffed,” while several employees were clearly visible inside, laughing and messing around - again closed about 30ish min early.
If the owner of this location wants to turn things around, they should start by installing cameras so they can see the disarray firsthand. Then perhaps consider firing the entire staff and starting over. Even in this employment market, there must be better options who wouldn’t completely crush the reputation of your business. Just look at your recent online reviews.
There doesn’t appear to be any oversight, accountability, or personal responsibility at this location anymore, and it’s become an embarrassment to the DQ brand. This location needs a complete overhaul.
It’s definitely worth the short drive to the Farmington location (which has a different owner) for a better experience, or at the very least a DQ that is open when they say they’re open.
PS - Please don’t waste your time by replying with your canned DQ corporate response about how you care, how you hope we’ll give you another try, or even worse… a bitly link to provide more feedback for the franchise owner. Is that a joke? How much more feedback does DQ corporate or this ownership group need? It’s comical to see how many of those canned responses are on these 1-star reviews, but the 1-star reviews keep on coming. Save the useless response and just get the owner (“Fourteen Foods” - with their equally stellar 2.1 star Google rating) to step up their game...
Read moreWent to DQ on Friday Aug. 2nd around 8:30pm - 9pm. Went inside instead of drive thru because there was a LONG line. It's crazy how much business they do and how filthy this place was! Upon entrance trash was on the floor throughout the place. A big puddle of water right infront of both freezers. I'm assuming the empty freezer was maybe leaking but they should have mopped it up. The other freezer was full of cakes/dilly bars. Big slip hazard!! No one wearing gloves or hairnets and 1 guy with no uniform. Not only did he have no uniform he had on the big beat headphones. He passed by me multiple times and didn't take my order but did ask everyone around me what they were waiting on. That's when I stopped him and said "I'd like to order please." He then took my order. Before that a young lady was making blizzards while on her cell phone to her ear. As I waited for my blizzards, I noticed a man & woman eating their ice cream at a table that had a bunch of window signage on the table, that should have been put up. I saw the young man who had the headphones on grab food to put on tray with no gloves. So imagine he grabs your fries with a thumb inside the box and the rest of his fingers on the outside of the box. His thumb just touched the food! He did it with the other food too! Then where the toppings were, instead of refilling the containers the toppings go in they just opened the box and scooped out of the box! There were 3 boxes, a bag of chips ahoy they were grabbing from. Machines filthy, counter filthy, glass filthy, floors filthy. Not sure the Condition of the bathrooms. But I'm sure not clean....I came here because the family wanted ice cream. But don't plan on coming back. Hope they get it together because if the Health department came through and did an inspection they would be shut down! And with all the bad reviews I have read I'm surprised Corporate hasn't done anything! Disappointed. DQ needs to step it up because a lot of these restaurants are closing. I wouldn't be surprised if DQ was next!
Wish I could share the pics...
Read moreMy brother and I decided to go into the lobby to order since he did not know what he wanted and he was also ordering for our Mom. I placed my order first, 1/4lb cheeseburger combo and pretzel sticks with queso. While placing my order the boy taking my order didn't know where the buttons were and literally said, "I don't know what I am doing. I have only been here one week." There was only one other boy there at the time working the drive thru. When I received my food I had to ask for my drink cup. When filling my cup the pop machine hardly had any choices left due to being out of syrup. I checked my bag and realized I did not receive my queso. I went up to let them know. At this time my brother was placing his order. From that time it took 25-30 minutes for him to receive his food and my queso. During this time a girl I assumed came back from break, and instead of helping the two boys (one being busy and the other having no clue what he was doing) she goes and starts mopping. Shortly after she arrived I believe the manager (I assume this because she was the only one older than 16) arrived and took over drive thru. She and the previous drive thru personal went in the back and argued, the other girl joined in the arguing. At this time we had been waiting for twenty minutes. The manager finally acknowledged we had been waiting for my brother's entire order and my simple cup of queso. She finally grabbed all three teens to finish his order. They handed him the bag, they literally forgot to put a whole meal in, a blizzard, a drink, and a brownie. It took them at least 5 more minutes to complete his order. Upon getting home and eating all three of our sandwiches were missing lettuce. Both orders of pretzels did not have salt, and my food had become cold and soggy from waiting for my brother's order. I have never written a bad review for anything. I was so appalled by this. Not one person apologized to us for the wait. Had they I might not be writing this. I will never go back to this...
