I am a first time customer of Aldi and came to the Rosemount, MN location off of Hwy 3 on 2/3/19 at around 12ish pm. Didn't know you had to pay for a cart. No big deal with that as I had my own shopping bag that I bought to use at grocery stores like Sam's Club etc. I walked around the entire store with employees following me around but no one asking if I needed any help. I made eye contact several times and smiled only to have the employees look away and keep doing what they were doing. So no friendliness there. I finally decided to just get a small amount of items and head to the check out. The cashier lady was not friendly at all. There was no greeting "Hi how are you today" nothing. She said "Are you going to be able to carry this out to the car?" I responded yes. She quickly scanned my items and put them in the cart and told me the total. I had a gift card that I received as a gift for Christmas and recommendation from a family member to try Aldi that I wanted to use. I asked her if I needed to swipe it or how did it work. It was obvious I had never been here. She huffed rather loudly and hit her screen repeatedly and I saw it say transaction canceled. She had never asked me how I wanted to pay. She then took the card scanned it, printed a receipt and handed them back to me in a rush. Before I could even put it in my wallet and pack up my groceries she started scanning the next customers things and putting it into the same cart that my groceries were in that I hadn't grabbed yet. She huffed again when I wasn't moving fast enough to grab my groceries. She didn't say any "thank you for coming" or any sort of exit greeting. She was extremely cold and rude. Based off of this visit I won't be returning and will just stick to Hyvee where I have better customer service and the staff are helpful...
Read moreUnfortunately, while shopping at ALDI in Rosemount today had to experience a very rude cashier. Normally their cashiers are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Not today. I could not see a name tag but she was wearing a maroon top and checking at the register line the farthest from the front doors. I was carry my groceries in 2 ALDI bags. While checking out normally the cashier allows you to put your checked groceries into the shopping cart next to her and you then can move over to the loading shelf right next to checkout. You then load up the groceries into your bags quickly and immediately return the cart to the registers. Not today. The cashier snapped at me YOU DON'T HAVE A CART! I question her why have I been allowed every other checkout to load my groceries from the cart at the shelf. Once again she snapped at me I NEED THIS CART FOR THIS LADY'S STUFF, who she was now checking out and now throwing the other customer's groceries on top of mine. 1. Being loud and rude is poor customer service. 2. Ignoring me and not being welcoming, friendly, nor helpful is again poor customer service. 3 . Throwing another customer's groceries on top of another's is just not the right thing to do. Not allowing me the time and space to bag up my groceries is unacceptable. This experience is very disappointing. I don't know if I will shop at ALDI in Rosemount again. ADLI Manager please address your employee unsatisfactory...
Read moreLove the prices and the great quality of store brands with the "Twice as Nice" guarantee, where if the product purchased does not meet expectations, they will refund your money and offer a replacement. Their regular and flavored potato chips are amazing, and easily compete or beat the competition. The stores are smaller than big box grocery stores, so it is usually quicker, unless you go when it is prime time like Fri-Sun or after typical working hours when people stop on their way home from work. No frills means more savings. Bring your own bags or use their boxes that are to be crushed, if you forget your bags. You can also purchase bags for a mminal fee. You get your quarter back when you return your cart to the corral. Many stores now offer self check out options, which can speed things up, as well. My only complaint is that the closest one is about 12 miles away, but I shop at 4 different ones, depending on which one I'll be closest to at the time when running errands, etc. Oh, and the ones in my area close at 8 pm. But I just need to plan ahead. I highly recommend Aldi. I also enjoy their Deals of the Week aisle, where you can find time limited items including kitchenware, organizational items, decorative items, seasonal items, clothes, shoes,...
