I have been here a couple of times. The first time we went was the opening ceremony when they were giving out free drinks. My mom and I were late and they refused to give us drinks because we were not there as soon as it opened, despite them still giving out drinks to employees and friends. The next couple of times we went, the employees were friendly and our drinks were good. However, the last two times I went, they messed up my order. The first time, my drink was extremely bland and had caffeine in it despite me specifically asking for decaf. This last time, both me and my grandma's drinks were bland, and when we went to ask them if they should put another shot of chocolate, the girl who helped us was friendly but condensending, and when they fixed our drinks, the taste can only be described as chemically altered chocolate milk. We wound up having to throw our drinks away. Speaking as a barista myself, I believe that the employees need more training and experience before being hired. If Dutch Bros were a person, they’d be the hyper-friendly neighbor who always remembers your name, your drink order, and somehow manages to compliment your shoes at the same time. The coffee? Let’s just say it consistently outperforms Starbucks like a valedictorian flexing in a room full of B-minuses. Smooth, strong, and somehow never burnt—Dutch Bros delivers like your favorite playlist on shuffle.

The service is borderline suspicious in how cheerful it is. Like… are they putting sunshine in the cold brew? And unlike some other coffee chains that shall not be named (cough), your order here is actually right. Almost always. Wild, I know.

And let’s talk about those 24-hour locations. Nothing says “I have made questionable life decisions but still deserve an excellent caramelizer” like rolling through at 2 a.m. and being greeted with a smile and a perfect drink.

I went here last Friday to get a strawberry peach smoothie. Soon after drinking it, I felt sick to my stomach. I thought it was something I ate earlier, but if that was the case my family would’ve gotten sick as well. I ended up getting food poisoning from the smoothie for two days. I noticed that after leaving the smoothie out for 15 minutes, the smoothie separated completely into two different parts. The top part looked chunky and grey and the bottom was a liquid bright pink. I asked my friend to try it and he said the smoothie tasted rancid. I wouldn’t usually write a review but I am so that hopefully what made me sick doesn’t make anyone else sick.
