I ordered Huevos Rancheros and my husband had Chorizo and eggs with two soft drinks this cost a little over $30.00 a bit pricey, when we arrived the restaurant was not busy there was only 3 tables with people seated in them but our food took well over a half hour to be served to us, I was very happy with the way they cooked my eggs and the Huevos Rancheros was delicious, but then I decided that I wanted to get an order of Posole to go, to eat at a later time. So my husband goes up to the counter to order the Posole to go and he also ordered a Churro a little over $17.00 for both of these items. So we figured we would probably have to wait 10 minutes for the Churro if that, No! About a half hour has gone by no Churro and No Posole so my husband finally goes back up to the counter and asks about his to go order and the gal gets it for him. The Churro was about half the size you would normally get. So moving on to my Posole they did give me a generous amount but when I finally got around to eating it a couple days later, it was only hominy and broth! There was NO MEAT in that soup! Completely disappointing!!!! I thought the service was very poor especially since you order at the counter, they give you a number to bring you your order, but they do the same thing at many restaurants and don't take nearly as long to bring you, your food. Especially something like Posole, I'm almost certain that they have huge pot ready to serve and that they are not making it...
Read moreSo today I ordered food and I went in to pick up my order and there was a line so I waited on the left side for pickup and I waited 15 minutes and serves see me but I’m getting ignored no one serves me finally a white lady was waiting behind me and server comes and asks her if she’s been helped while I’m in front and she ignores me , while her back is towards me I asked can I pick my order whereas she tells the lady her order isn’t ready and I saw my order sitting up they since I’ve been there waiting so finally she checks and helps me on the open register, this is not the first time I’ve ordered over the phone and being ignored by almost all the serves until I ask if they can help me cash out .seems like this place constantly reminds me black people are not allowed, and racism in Roseville is way higher than any area I’ve worked in , the lady friend that I work for was waiting in the car and is white she was so furious she asked me why didn’t you say something, I said I try and keep my cool and I don’t like drama and I like peace and I wouldn’t write this review if it happened once but just because it happened more than twice I have no choice but give it one star and my lady friend said they’ve lost not only one but 2 customers for now and wouldn’t recommend any of my...
Read moreMy wife and I eat here pretty regularly. Out of all the Mexican food we have tried in the Roseville and surrounding areas, this one is one of the best places to eat.
Like every other restaurant, we have had our good visits and our not so good visits. Yes there are times the cashier or manager or server may not be having the best day, and there are times when the food wasn't made exactly how we requested it, but most of the time the food and service are above average.
The atmosphere is nice, its always busy, and every now and then they have had live music (Fridays I think) which is pretty cool.
I would say the only hold back from giving El Azteca 5 stars are the prices. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. You get a lot of food for $10, but from the first time we stepped foot into El Azteca in 2012, we have seen the price increase just about every 3 months. For example, I order the #7 and we used to pay $6.95 in 2012. What a great price for great food. Just two years later we are paying $10.95 for the same food, same portion, same everything. The price is still worth the food, but its tough to watch the prices increase so much.
I will continue to support and eat at El Azteca as well as refer all my friends and family, but keep the prices the same for...
