Walking into Salt & Straw is always a treat, but thanks to Anne and Sapphire, my recent visit turned into an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped in, they welcomed me with the kind of warmth and positivity that immediately made me feel like family. Their energy was not only infectious—it elevated the entire atmosphere of the shop.

Anne’s customer service skills are absolutely top-tier. She was patient, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure I got exactly what I was looking for (and then some!). Her genuine enthusiasm for the flavors and clear passion for making customers happy made the experience feel truly special.

Sapphire was equally incredible—radiating kindness and confidence, answering questions with ease, and making me feel like the most important person in the room. The way she personalized the interaction and anticipated what I needed before I even asked was nothing short of masterful.

Together, Anne and Sapphire are a dream team. Their exquisite attention to detail, extreme welcoming behavior, and authentic love for what they do set a gold standard for customer service. If every business had employees like them, the world would be a much brighter place.

It is darn difficult to find ice cream shops offering vegan options. So when I was in the Fountains shopping center in Roseville, I made a point to check out Salt & Straw. They commonly have vegan options on the menu. But I’m picky on the taste. So I was super glad that Salt & Straw allows sampling before purchase. I sampled three of the four options, all were pretty tasty. Not an easy feat for vegan ice cream.

I sampled the … -Chocolate Passionfruit Truffle - It's a limited edition flavor. It had a bold, tarty fruit flavor with subtle hints of chocolate. Tasty but I’m not that into the tartness. -Marionberry Coconut Sherbet - It had a significant coconut flavor with marionberries. -Peanut Butter Brittle Chocolate Fudge - I ordered this. Yum! Sure enough, it tasted like peanut butter with ribbons of fudge. Both equally starring in this flavor.

Things to note: Prices are pricey. A scoop will run about $6.50. The shop has no seating. However, the plaza has a couple of outdoor communal seating areas. I can’t chew gum and walk at the same time. But oddly enough I can eat ice cream (cone or cup) and walk at...

I was just walking to my car when the smell of fresh waffle cones literally stopped me in my tracks and pulled me right into Salt and Straw - and I’m so glad it did! There was a decent line, but honestly, totally worth the wait.

Anne was the absolute sweetest. She made my first time there such a great experience - she's super friendly, patient, and let me try a few flavors before I committed (which, let’s be real, is necessary because everything sounds amazing). I ended up with two scoops and sat on one of the benches nearby to enjoy it. The whole area is beautiful and such a nice place to just relax and eat ice cream.
