I travel to Northern India a couple of times a year, spending about 15 nights a year there. As such, I consider myself very familiar with Northern Indian food...and love it. I saw some TikTok videos about this restaurant and got very excited. The videos made the food and experience look amazing. I took my friend there for dinner while visiting Roseville. She is not very familiar with Indian food and I wanted to show here how good it can be. I was sadly disappointed. The restaurant and decor are beautiful. The night we went there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant which seemed odd at first. The service was not good. My friend ordered hot tea but they gave her chai tea. No big deal but then they almost refused to take it off the bill or exchange it. He said he had already entered it in the computer. So odd that I wanted to mention it. The food portions are huge. Sadly, they didn't have one of the entrees showcased in the TikTok video and said they have never had it. I ordered 3 entrees and some sides. They were average at best. I would rate them a 3 or 4 out of 10. While I was hoping for food similar to what I have in India, what I found was even worse than some of the more average Indian restaurants in the US I have been to. I left the restaurant very disappointed. What I don't understand is why their online advertising is so good. Makes me think they hired a company to create amazing videos but the food, people and ambiance was not actually from this restaurant. Kudos to whoever created those videos as it got me in the door, but considering what I actually found there I'll...
Read moreAnyone who loves Indian food that actually has FLAVOR needs to get in here! The interior decor is more upscale as apposed to so many that are kind of like a glorified cafeteria setting. This is a clean, warm, inviting and comfortable environment. The typical person dining out these days seems to think "dress as terribly as you can"... Here you can actually dress appropriately and feel good about where you are dining. Check out the pics, it's nice inside.
Our host and the servers were all spot on the entire evening, being both attentive and friendly. The staff was dressed cleanly and professionally.
We requested our dishes be 'spicy' as that's how we roll around here. For dinner we had the chicken vindaloo, lamb Rogan Josh, Paneer saagwala, basmati rice and some garlic naan. All of the dishes were so incredibly full of flavor and just the right amount of heat. Great depth and quality in all of them. If I were to make any kind of criticism, it would be that the garlic naan was a little too oily. But, we didn't come here just for the naan. Of all the Indian restaurants in NorCal, we have tried thus far, we have to agree that this is our top spot now, and we will be coming back many times going forward. Come for the service and atmosphere, and experience the...
Read moreAs a Brit I am always looking for a good indian restaurant and this one does not disappoint. The menu is smaller , but perhaps not so overwhelming for most US taste palate's. The service is exceptional, the manager Fsroz , trained in top class restaurants and cruise liners, knows how to offer top service, and be very friendly. They can offer suggestions and Beers and wines to match. The interior is very modern , spacious and has an elegant feel. This has certainly been designed. The food was perfect , each time we go we try different appetizers and the Calamari and Shrimp are our favorites. This visit I opted for the Lamb chops rather than my usual curry ( I like the Tikka marsala) and the chops were wonderful. We were given a large bowl of rice and refills are available, but the portions are plentiful. Reasonable prices, great space and good service. Excellent overall, and I noticed frequented by many Indian families , so this shows the food is very authentic. Try the mango Lassi with your food a great accompliment if the...
