Shor Bazar Grill — Restaurant in Roseville

First time, I and my family went there for buffet. Buffet has a combination of Indian, Pakistani, and Afghan dishes. Unlike other buffets where greasy stew are at the start to fill in stomach a variety of healthy and/or mild spicy food are at the start of the table. Asha’s, manto, Afghan bolani starts the line. Then spicy delicious Hindi / Pakistani style food such as pakora, chicken dishes and kebabs are displayed and quickly filled in as needed. Chai tea, fruits and sweets complete the food choices. The restaurant is located in one of the best locations near Galleria mall of Roseville the restaurant atmosphere demonstrates very well-budgeted and tasteful owner cares about the future of his business and his customers.

The second time, we went for dinner. Again service was superb, every meal was delicious and aroma of authentic food was very revealing of the owner’s selection of his best chef and care to the customer. At the end of the meal the owner personally treated us. Food for the price we paid was so much that we carried the delicious left overs and I took them to my work the next day. I recently visited Shor Bazar Grill with family and friends, a place we had all previously enjoyed for its excellent food and service. Unfortunately, this visit was quite disappointing. The quality of the food has noticeably declined, and it appears there has been a change in the kitchen — possibly with the manager or owner now handling the cooking.

We politely shared our feedback about the food, hoping it would be received constructively. However, the response from the owner was unexpectedly dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than engaging with us or showing any interest in our experience, he appeared indifferent and unwilling to have a conversation.

It’s disheartening to see a once-great restaurant take such a turn in both food quality and customer service. The previous chef consistently delivered delicious meals, and it’s clear that change has impacted the overall experience.

Indian is our favorite food to go out to eat. We have found the very best Indian buffet here. Honestly we think this is the best Indian food we have eaten in all of California. We have eaten at their lunch buffet three times recently since we found it and it is fabulous every single time. It is home made from scratch with great ingredients and has amazing flavors and spices and presented with such excellence. There is also Afghani and Pakistani food. I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. The buffet is the best because you can try such a great variety of vegetarian and meat starters and main courses. You will love it!!
