This place is overhyped.
Me and my wife went over the weekend to try this place out, as we saw many reviews, ads & even MPG on their IG. We ordered asada burrito, pastor nachos, 1 asada st taco, 1 quesabirria, 1 horchata, 1 cantaloupe fresh water. We paid a total of 50$. The place was busy due to the hype so you were rubbing elbows with people to get to the salsa bar. Once we got our chips and salsa we sat down and tried the salsas out. I believe you can judge a place by their salsas. This place had some of the worst salsas I have ever tried. No flavor, tasted bitter and water downed. That was already a bad start and knew the food wasnât going to be good. We got the burrito cut in half to share. The rice was bland AF! The beans tasted like nothing. Barely any meat! All I could taste was sour cream. We took a few bites and left that alone. We moved to the nachos and same issue. No flavor!! The sour cream was the highlight of the entire place! Thatâs the only thing that had flavor!! The street taco was bland, the meat wasnât seasoned just and their salsa on top wasnât helping anything either. The quesabirria was the only thing we ate and we rate that a 3.5. They gave us tomatoe paste as a consome which is weird. To the last thing was the Aguas frescos, well they werenât anything fresh. Straight from a bag to your cup. The horchata wasnât anything great just tasted like out of a bag from a store. The cantaloupe water wasnât sweet and had more water than cantaloupe. Overall this place wand a HUGE disappointment after their ads and influencers they pay to hype their food.

Read moreOn this day I had the regular burrito with grilled chicken and a side of chips and salsa.
FOOD: The burrito was good. The flavor was nice with the chicken being cooked and seasoned well. The spanish rice in the burrito was a great compliment to the flavor of the chicken. The burrito by itself really deserves 5 stars, the issue here is with the salsa. While there are many varieties the red salsa located front left had a slight moldy taste that really adversely impacted my enjoyment of the meal. I am the type of customer that loves a good salsa bar, so that was very disappointing. One of the spicer versions of the red did not have that issue. I sampled multiple of the available varieties and two of them had the issue with the taste of mold. The front of the house was spotless, so something is happening in the back of the house causing this issue. Please sample ot before putting it out.
SERVICE: Excellent and friendly service here. Quick also.
ATMOSPHERE: It's clean, there's festive music playing. Typical taqueria fare. Seating outdoors is a bit of problem. As you can see from my photos, the tables are of a lattice design which unfortunately can result in food dropping through and hitting your pants (or skirt for the ladies). Not a great thing to have happen if you have to get in front of a client or a meeting. Not sure if that is the restaurant's choice or if it came with the space they are renting but it is absolutely a terrible idea for this...
Read moreWe decided to try something new after reading a review online, and we chose to visit Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta.
As soon as we stepped inside, a friendly employee welcomed us, which set a positive tone for our experience. The menu featured an impressive range of options, including tacos, burritos, fajitas, soups, and various plates. The cashier was patient and helpful as we took our time deciding on our orders, which we appreciated.
The salsa bar offered a good variety of choices; however, we noticed that most of the salsas lacked significant heat, which could be enhanced for those who enjoy spicier flavors. Additionally, my husband felt that some of the salsas had an odd, almost 'fishy' taste.
The speed of service was commendable; our food arrived in about five minutes, which was quicker than we expected. We hadnât even finished our chips and salsa when our dishes were served, showcasing the kitchen's efficiency. The staff was also attentive, checking in on us several times to ensure we had everything we needed.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were pleased with the service. The food wasn't exactly flavorful, and almost bland; the rice and beans were mediocre. Personally, they aren't exactly what I am used to, which would be more flavorful sides.
I'm not sure we will return, but I am happy that we tried it. It was very clean, and a nice experience. As one reviewer stated, it might be a ' one and done', which...
