This is normally one of my favorite places to eat, usually great food and pretty good service but yesterday was not a pleasant experience. I wanted to take my daughter out to get brunch and after having a rough morning we were excited to eat there. The table we were sat at was still dirty. There were two servers in the section we were in but We sat for over 10 minutes while one server walked by us multiple times without any acknowledgement and the other server went to two tables that were sat after us and didn't acknowledge us either... finally after a couple more minutes of waiting I got up to get a manager. The manager apologized took our drink order. My daughter ordered a hot chocolate and I ordered a coffee and she asked if I wanted creme and she gave me some options... I chose Vanilla... she didn't come back with the drinks, instead the hostess came back... no cream, no spoons... we waited some more... finally I asked a busser if I could get some cream and spoons... it wasn't until after almost 20 minutes that we were finally able to put in an order... with the hostess who did her best... no server, the manager never even came back to check on us... the hostess did a pretty thorough job serving. I do appreciate that she took $20 off the bill, but it wasn't until the server brought it to me with no courtesy discount and I asked her to take it to her manager... that should have been done as a courtesy gesture before the server(hostess) brought us the bill... based on principal... ...and it was disappointing to see the manager sitting at the bar on our way out. I waitressed my way through college and opened/co-owned a restaurant before and I base my opinion off my own experience. I really hope this was just a fluke for the day and hasn't become typical for the establishment. This place has been one of my favorite breakfast places to go to with friends and their food and drinks, especially the mimosas, are delicious.
With all that being said, the food was great. Their waffles are fluffy with the right amount of crisp...the power breakfast is my favorite. They have so many varieties of mimosas to choose from and usually run some kind if Mimosa special... their bacon Bloody Mary's look really good although I've yet to try one. The food and beverages are definitely worth the visit but everyone knows it's customer service that makes or breaks a restaurant establishment. Hoping the next visit is better... if not, it will...
Read moreIf I had an option to give zero stars I would. I have been to this place only one other time. The first time our server was very nice. This morning I went along with my mother and my sisters we did have a large party 13 people to be exact. However, we were very nice and pleasant even when they sat us 30 minutes later then they said they would. We didnât care and understood. Then we sat down and our server comes up and asks if we will be having anything other than water. When I went to respond after asking the others she was gone. When she came back I told her that we would like three orange juices and she told me in a very rude and snappy tone âlet me finish getting all of these waters out first.â Well if you wanted to wait then why did you ask? I said âokay Iâm sorry.â She came back to get our food and was just super rude. Then our food came served to us by other people then we had no silverware or napkins. They brought us 4 sets of silverware for our party of 13. We had to ask for more silverware several times. When they came back to give us more they still didnât give us enough where we waited even longer to get the rest of them. Not once did our server offer to bring us more water or even check in to see if we needed anything. After this experience and just how they treated us today I will not go back. This was very hurtful to us because when my family and I go out I feel as if we are always pleasant to work with and donât ever give any problems. This is also the first time I have ever even taken the time out of my day to write a review. The lady at the front who checked us in was SUPER nice though so thank you for that! It was my moms 54th birthday and she had never been here before so we were all excited to take her. Unfortunately we will not be going back. There are plenty of other places to go where the servers are kind and the food is good! To whoever our server was you should really consider if customer service is for you. Sometimes even when work is stressful you have to put on a smile girl! And yes on top of their service charge we still tipped them to make sure that it was a 20% gratuity because that is the type of people we are. Trust me I felt like leaving...
Read morePoor customer service. Unable to deal with a full house on a weekday morning. Perhaps they have good food but we wouldn't know.
My daughter wanted to do a family brunch after her 8th grade promotion ceremony. She, being a foodie, picked The Mimosa House. The menu looked good.
My wife called for a reservation at 11AM... not needed at 11AM on a Thursday, she was told. She warned the restaurant that today, they would likely get a lot of people, as there were many families bound to eat after 8th promotion. My daughter's class had maybe 400 kids.
We arrived after promotion to see a restaurant in chaos. Was told the wait was 20 minutes. Got seated after 40. Having the time to study the menu waiting, we ordered right away. Got our drinks 10-15 minutes later. Waited for at least another hour or so, only to see two other surrounding tables get their food, one larger, one smaller. the kicker was that both tables were seated after ours, ordering well after we did.
We asked the nearest server to ask for an explanation. She disappeared into the kitchen and returned with food for other people, and said the kitchen was backed up. "I sorry" doesn't cut it---if you come wanting to eat brunch at 11, it is unreasonable to have to wait until 1:30 to get food--especially breakfast food.
At other restaurants, servers keep their guests apprised and check on them. We got one check in to refill water. I can only suspect that they were short staffed, and servers were frustrated and maybe gave up.
We had to leave, some of us still had to get to work, or at least get something to eat. My daughter left in tears frustrated at her choice. Perhaps today was an anomaly but it didn't appear that staff cared. I'm sorry we went, and that my daughters memory of today includes our family's...
