Glad to see a really good Chinese place in East Cobb. Normally our food choice locations have been in Decatur, Sandy Springs, Buford Hwy Alpharetta etc.
This place really really WOW'ED us and the owner use to be partners with Tasty China when they were good.
The Food: First the Pot Stickers were outstanding, not the small over cooked usual pot stickers with little meat. Big, perfectly cooked and seasoned. But what really took the Pot Stckers over the top is the home made dipping sauce that is smooth and tangy. Just an outstanding taste and unique sauce.
Soup Pork Dumplings: That were the best we've had in Georgia! Great quality. seasoned to perfection, very juicy and just melted in your mouth. Awesome job
Thier Dried Fried Green Beans, high quality and not the over abundance of bean sauce that a lot of Chinese restaurants fall into the trap of. Perfectly seasoned not over cooked or dried out. We are on a roll
The Beef Fried was outstanding very well cooked and no soy sauce needed. A true mark for me to judge a Chinese restaurant lol
Kungpow Chicken is to die for. Very fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection once again. The sauce is light not heavy with a unique flavor that I've never had before. Truly a must try with that unique authentic sauce.
We also tried the the Loo Main Noodles that was just great. I can't say enough about the food, it's high quality with a truly unique taste. Cudos to the chef and owner.
Service: Our waitress, Melinda I think from the reciept was on point, took the time to answer our questions, checked on us and refilled our sweet Tea's on time.
The Down side: It's a little tight and cramped for this restaurant. I am sure there will be a line out the door during peak times. It's worth the wait. The sounds can be a little loud due to the crowd.
All in all I highly recommend this place. You would find this type of Chinese restaurant in Buford Hwy, Decatur or Sandy Springs that's how good this place is.
PS Why is it the best sweet tea in the South is from Chinese restaurants here in the...
Read moreIt’s with a heavy heart that I write this review. Firestone was one of my all-time favorite restaurants — a place I dined at dozens of times over the years and often recommended to others. It was consistent, flavorful, and uniquely excellent.
Now, Firestone is gone. In its place stands Axxis Chinese Bistro. The menu remains about 90% the same, with the addition of boba drinks, which initially gave me hope that this would be a smooth transition — just a new name on the door. Unfortunately, that hope was short-lived.
The beloved red chili oil wontons — once a Firestone staple — have been completely butchered. They used to be drenched in a bold, spicy red oil that not only coated the wontons beautifully but doubled as a bonus sauce for the rest of your meal. Now? They arrive dry, with barely a trace of oil. I found myself scraping the corners of the container just to get a hint of what used to be the star of the dish.
The basil chicken, once a standout 11/10 dish, has fallen to a disappointing 5/10. The flavors are muted, the chicken is drier, and the fried rice — once my favorite anywhere — was hard and noticeably lacking in flavor.
As for the new boba tea, it tasted like something you’d get from a generic mall kiosk — sugary, unremarkable, and forgettable.
I say all this as someone who would easily rank among the top 5 biggest fans and advocates of Firestone. But after tonight, I won’t be back. Despite the similar menu, the food quality has taken such a dramatic step down, it genuinely feels like a completely different restaurant — because,...
Read moreWe had the most incredible dining experience at Axia Chinese Bistro! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of modern elegance and traditional charm.
The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the bamboo fish—delicately prepared, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural freshness of the fish without overpowering it. It was unlike anything I’ve tasted before, truly a dish that sets Axia apart.
We also tried the dumplings, and they were absolutely outstanding. Perfectly steamed with soft, pillowy wrappers, the filling was juicy, rich, and bursting with flavor. You can tell they put real care into making them fresh, and it made all the difference.
The service was just as impressive as the food—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Every recommendation from the staff was spot on, and it made the entire experience feel special.
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine with a touch of artistry, Axia Chinese Bistro is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and explore more...
