When you first pull up there is a parking lot in the back with limited parking. You’ll notice two big green eggs outside and if you know about the big green egg grills then you’ll know they make an amazing smoke flavor on your foods!!!!
The inside of the restaurant is cute and homey. I live that the menu is simple. We didn’t wait more than 5 minutes to order and our waiter Austin was very nice. I didn’t feel overwhelmed making a choice.
I noticed their specialty deviled eggs promotion and decided to give them a try. They were sweet and savory not too much seasoning. I opted for the Bruce’s plate which includes 3 eggs cooked how you want, a chicken sausage link, 2 slices of bacon fruit and a biscuit. They also have create your own bowls with which you can create a base of grits hashbrowns or a sandwich then shoose your toppings. My husband got the breakfast burrito and the jalepeno cheese comes on the side. Thanks goodness because it is spicy! I loved it but my husband doesn’t like too much spice so it’s good that you’re able to put it on at your own leisure.
My Bruce’s plate looked good the bacon was very flavorful and a little sweet. The biscuit was soft and buttery! and the jam tasted like orange sweet and tart. The chicken sausage was ok lit has a little spice to it. The eggs were cooked to perfection over medium. I was a little disappointed with the seasonal fruit as it was just and orange and I was expecting a small Medely so I would suggest asking what the current seasonal fruit is.
My husbands breakfast burrito was good. It had eggs bacon and hashbrowns inside. they also have a green salsa verde that he tried with the burrito that enhanced the flavor as well.
My only hiccup was that a small piece of what appeared to be dog hair was on one of my eggs but Austin saved the day he immediately took the food away and deeply apologized. He had the food remade in less than 5 minutes brand new eggs and all!
I feel the price was fair for the quality of the food. When the bill came out Austin had comped the meal for me!!!!I was just appreciative that they had made my entire meal over without giving me a hard time. The biscuit was my favorite out of everything and yes BETTER THAN POPEYES. But we needed a nap after all that food! We will definitely be...
Read moreFor heaven's sake slow down and wait to experience fantastic, thoughtful and well balanced southern breakfast meal at Gracious Plenty. My fiance and I arrived shortly after 11am on a Sunday morning and Gracious Plenty was filled with customers enjoying the simple outdoor seating and the long family tables and hightop bar inside which overlooks the kitchen area. Upon entering the head of the house taking orders seemed to remember everyone's name as they left thanking them by name and sending them off into the day with a phrase of thanks. Both the Owner and chef Jasmin Willis and Chef de Cuisine Conner Slewitzke where smiling and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff. I ordered the Grit Bowl - Pimento Cheese, Runny Egg, Country Ham (Prosciutto) and Okra along with homemade hot sauce “Breakfast Hot Sauce - Chef de Cuisine Slewitzke recipe”. Additionally added on a Biscuit with Kennesaw Georgia Honey and Homemade Peach Jam. With fingers crossed we found the perfect seat, the hightop bar so we could take in the sights and sounds of this simple and seemingly tasteful elegance of the kitchen and decor. Our food arrived straight from the hands of Chef de Cuisine Slewitzke who let us know the origins of some of the ingredients in our meals. He looked at me and asked if I would like some hot sauce. I must have that look or he knows I must be a connoisseur of hot sauces. I quickly replied, what type? This must have been two magic words. He smiled and said, how about my homemade ‘Breakfast Hot' sauce? A perfect touch to my meal which rounded out the almost risotto style grits. The okra was fresh earthly tasting and cooked to the right amount of leaving a nice snappy crunch. Salty notes of the country ham blended so well with the creamy texture of the southern gits. The eggs made a nice splash of cooked egg whites and runny egg yolks. These biscuits, oh... these biscuits, where deliciously warm and baked with a nice browning crust on the outside and a warm fluffy interior. Spreading the peach jam and honey was undoubtedly a perfect combination of two individuals with a great understanding of what a wholehearted southern meal...
Read moreBeing originally from California, I have now lived in the Roswell area for a good amount of time. Oddly enough, I had never been to Gracious Plenty on Canton Street in the Historic Roswell area.
I started my day by looking for a local place that serves breakfast all day. And yelp pointed me towards this restaurant, and the many great reviews sealed my decision.
If you're familiar with Canton Street, then you know all too well about the parking challenges. This place actually shares a private parking lot directly behind the restaurant. Score...!!!
When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted immediately by a friendly hostess with a big smile. Being that I was dining alone, I decided to sit at the small bar or counter area.
Being that this was my first time here, I decided to try the ever popular Bruce's Plate. It's a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, fresh fruit, and a buttermilk biscuit.
Well, I'm not typically a big fan of biscuits, but their biscuit was great. It tasted freshly baked, buttery, and flaky. They serve honey, butter, and/or jam with the biscuit.
The interior is relatively small, but there's also extra seating outside on the patio.
The one element that made the biggest impression to me was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone, including, Lea, Tyler, and Scott, were overly friendly and quite welcoming.
The only downside for me was the lack of soft drink options. They do carry Mexican Coke and Mexican Sprite in the bottle; however, they do not carry fountain drinks, and they do not have any sugar free soft drink options.
With the lack of fountain drinks aside, based upon the taste and quality of the food combined with the friendliness of the staff, I would definitely consider returning here for breakfast Thursday through Monday, and I would highly recommend others consider visiting Gracious Plenty sometime...
