Okay so first, the atmosphere gets 4 stars. It would be three but their patio is wonderful! Could even be considered beautiful especially if they clean up and plant pretty plants and flowers in the little boxed in spot with weeds growing in it out there. Other than that, the inside is restaurant-esque but it's inside the mall so it kind of takes away the "restaurant" feel.
The initial service was fast and friendly in my one experience though I have been told it takes a lot of time usually. At the end of the meal we asked our waiter for a box for the rest of our food. In that we had some remaining queso and I had to get up and go ask for a lid they didn't think to bring us one.
The food - great! I got the half sirloin quesadilla. They have an array of salsas that are all fantastic! As I mentioned we ordered queso. When we were ordering I pointed up at the menu and said I wanted the chips and queso. She said they had two quesos and asked which one I wanted. Her knowing it was my first time didn't specify between the two so I asked. She said one was a white queso and the other was like a yellow nacho cheese queso. I asked for the white queso. She said it was "a little bit more" and asked if that was okay. I didn't inquire further on the price and said that's fine assuming it would be a few dollars more. We got seated and she later came out and told us that the white queso was frozen and so I wouldn't be able to have it. My initial thought is why would it be frozen You've been open for hours and knowing that you do have it, and it's on your menu, why wouldn't it had been prepared for the day? Anyway I said all right and opted for the yellow nacho cheese queso. She ended up bringing us out the difference in price which was $7 bringing the white queso to 11.99 instead of 4.99 on the menu. I'm sorry but that's not "a little bit more". Lastly I would have liked to have an actual plate for my quesadilla. In the video I posted you can see that the tray spins so when I would go to cut and eat my food it would move all over the place which was a little annoying. If I were to take it off the tray then the food would go all over the table because it was just on a cardboard cake round. Also they only brought us one set of silverware maybe that was just an accident or did they assume that quesadillas are eating with fingers only or something? Anyway, when I go back I will just request it go on an actual plate and make sure they know I want to use a fork with it. I will definitely be back It's...
Read moreWorst Mexican restaurant I've been to. Order an Asada quesadilla, it came with some type of stewed meat wich made it completely soggy and it just fell apart. Also ordered an Asada burrito (because they have no tocos apparently for kids) and I got something like carne guisada with a ridiculously hot gravy. Now I eat hot spicy food, chipotle, chiles toreados you name it. None of the 3 adults in our party ate it because it was so hot you couldn't even enjoy it. Another adult in our party got the fajita burrito and got the same hot guisada meat as the "asada taco". An order of Asada taquitos came with beef fajita, tortillas and meat separated so you could make your own tacos. I'm from Texas, so maybe that's how they eat them here in New Mexico? Another party member bought the bean and cheese nachos, we got nacho chips you get at the movies with the nacho cheese instead of actual melted american cheese. Ok no biggie but then there was lettuce and tomatoes on top, what? They had tortilla chips but somehow this is Mexican nachos? Now I ordered Barbacoa tacos, a plate mind you with 4 tacos because they have no single taco orders. $11 for 4 tacos, ranchero beans and rice. Ok maybe it's not too bad. Well no, I received 4 mini tacos with beans that tasted like water. No salt no flavor nothing! The only good thing we were serve that actually tasted good was the rice. Everyone in our party left most of our food. Like we really tried just to taste it and see how it was, we know food tastes different depending on the state, region etc. But this was not Mexican food nor were the meats what they advertised. Our 8 members 3 had stomach aches after trying to eat the spicy mystery...
Read moreCashier was rude. The one with a sleeve tattoo on her arm.
We realized we had been waiting for over 25 mins. We decided to get an update on our order. The cashier said she didn’t know in an angry tone. We stood off to the side and she could tell we were getting impatient. A few mins later she asked another worker to go check the status of our order, and what do you know it had been ready.
I mean come on any customer would start wondering what was going on when you hear numbers called in order then they call 3 ahead of yours. The other customers had way more food and we only had 3 burritos.
One thing I noticed is that there not organized they have multiple people going from the front to the back or to the kitchen. Yet, the cashier with the sleeve tattoo stayed upfront and dealt with the customers.
The woman with the sleeve tattoo shouldn’t be working the front if she’s going to catch an attitude with customers. It’s kinda funny though because if they were a customer at a restaurant you’d know they’d be complaining and writing a review if it were them.
We got the asado burritos and they were good.
Hopefully on the next visit they have their customer interaction skills on a...
