On a recent road trip, we stopped at Marshalls to pick up some extra clothes and essentials. We were trying to decide on a backpack and asked a department associate to remove the security sensor so we could properly assess its size, color, and internal pockets. The associate kindly obliged. However, our experience at the cash register with Cashier #1057 (per the receipt, as she wasn't wearing a name tag) was exceptionally poor.
She began by loudly and sarcastically greeting us. As I was taking items from the top of the basket, she literally screamed at me to get the items from the bottom first, in a truly rude manner. We tried to ignore her tone and proceeded to give her the bottom items. When we handed her the backpack, she immediately noticed the missing sensor and made a huge deal out of it. We calmly explained that a helpful lady in that department had removed it so we could properly examine the backpack before purchasing. Cashier #1057, still loud and rude, retorted that "sensors are there for a reason because people put stuff in them," implying we had committed a crime and should have had it put back. We felt incredibly uncomfortable due to her aggressive demeanor.
After her lecture, she initially refused to bag the backpack, claiming the large bags were a "waste." I had to explicitly ask her to bag it as we had a long trip and didn't want it to get dirty. She then aggressively snatched the backpack from my hands and put it in the bag. As she passed the sensor over it, it predictably beeped. She then repeatedly made remarks like, "Oh, there is something in here — oh, there is something in here," even though we had already told her the nice lady from the backpack department had placed the sensor inside the backpack after removing it. She seemed so blinded by anger that she either didn't see it when she opened the backpack the first time or simply wasn't listening to our explanation.
Her anger continued as she bagged our other items, doing so extremely rudely and packing fragile items like a picture frame and a glass mixer carelessly into an overflowing small bag. I had to ask her, again, to carefully wrap these items. She murmured under her breath and made faces at a coworker, clearly annoyed by our requests for proper care. We remained quiet, despite her unprofessionalism, and simply paid and left. We were deeply offended by Cashier #1057's behavior. While we enjoy shopping at Marshalls, this was a very bad experience. We will be informing corporate about this incident; this cashier needs to...
Read moreThe staff or employees were kind and helpful. Especially the one that was working in household goods about noon. She was very busy putting things out, but she came to stop to greet me, asked if I needed help locating anything. One young lady the assisted me with sports bra, it was hard to recognize them with the makers changing the styles. She made sure I felt comfortable making the selection for my picky Granddaughter.
The place is very clean and organized. It is much smaller than the Marshall's in OKC and the OKC store is brighter.

Read moreI travel around New Mexico for work, and when I have a little free time I like to check out the discount stores wherever I'm at. The Roswell Marshalls is definitely one of my very favorites. The store is generally clean and well organized, the employees are friendly, and I almost always find great deals on clothing and household items whenever I shop there. If you live in or near Roswell you probably already know this, but if you happen to be passing through Roswell I highly recommend checking out this Marshalls while...
