My issue is not with the local store, but rather with their credit card division. I opened an account on the 17th of the month. A month and 6 days later, I received my first statement in the mail. The card still has not arrived. Unfortunately, the mail was delayed for some reason, and the due date had already passed when I received the statement last night. Apparently, they decided to end my billing cycle 11 days after I had opened the account. When I called, the representative explained that they can set the end of the billing cycle for whenever they want. I tried to explain that doing so is not a very trust inducing business tactic, but the rep was incredibly rude and unconcerned. While I fully understand that it is not the fault of the company that Roswell's Postal Service seems to be unable to properly and timely deliver our mail to the correct box, it is still incredibly devious to close the billing statement only 11 days after opening the account. This, combined with the fact that the card has not yet arrived, set me up to miss the first payment, as I did not expect it to be due so soon after opening the account.
