Best sushi thus far. I stumbled upon Sushi Uchi when I first moved to Alpharetta. I was looking for a nice spot to celebrate my birthday with my family as well as my fiancé’s family. Not everyone in his family is a big sushi fan like me so I wanted to be sure that they had items on the menu that everyone could enjoy. As soon as we sat down a patron raved about all of the delicious rolls and the quality of the food and the service and we were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their meal and left happy.
The location is great. Intimate but not too formal. You can go for a first date or anniversary OR after a long day of errands. The staff is always welcoming and the fatty tuna is my absolute favorite. The quality also carries over to take out orders. The hibachi chicken is always tender and flavorful and I have never been to a restaurant where the steamed rice was good enough to eat without adding any sauces.
I have tried several of the rolls at this point and have yet to find one I don’t like (I do have a scallop allergy so I haven’t been able to indulge in anything...
Read moreNo ambiance: forgivable. Small single speaker blasting electic mix of classical (as in orchestral) and 80's Euro rock, in front of my ears at bar - while rest of restaurant doesn't get enough volume: not so much. Rationed tiny portions of ginger only on demand: not forgivable... and just downright cheap. Speaking of cheap, the bill was $40 for 3 orders for only myself... and I left hungry. I am not a fan of American gargantuan portions, but I shouldn't have left hungry spending $40. They charged $3 for a single cheap grocery store green tea bag with lukewarm water. Really? You really expect an Asian foodie to come back for this?! Oh, and I haven't even talked about the food. Improperly seasoned sushi rice, wrong temperature and texture, chef snuck one discolored piece of tuna amongst my order of 5 sashimi pieces (yup cleverly disguised on the bottom of the pile, because I would not notice). Well played 'Grasshoppa'. The million dollar question: how did they get 4.5 stars on Google? Go if you must, but don't say I...
Read moreOrder uber eats from here. I only leave a review if I had a good experience, I don’t like to mess with peoples businesses and opinions are subjective. But let me tell you the objective side. Three goyza came in our order, the fried jalapeño roll had only three pieces and the shrimp tempura roll was laughably small. I’m not sure how they cut it so small. I’ve included a photo. For reference I’m 4’11” and have tiny hands, please note the size of the role next to the wasabi dollops. $14 for the shrimp tempura roll and honestly it was like 4 regular pieces in size. I feel so ripped off because their photos don’t represent what you actually get. Also the shrimp was so small like you can’t taste anything when the roll is that small. Nothing tasted bad, it was more of a rip off. $14 for shrimp tempura roll, $5 for three little goyza and $16 for three pieces of the j bomb roll when the photo has four pieces and does not represent what they had online. Like I said see...
