I wish there was a 3 1/2 star because I feel that that's what it is for this location but my kids love this place! I was embarrassed to say that I haven't tried it when it was so hyped lol I love hot chicken! I love spicy chicken! My favorite is Gus and Hattie Bs in Las Vegas only and so my standard is really high, but I've heard such great things about Tumble 22 and everyone's comparing it to those two places and saying it's better so I was so excited. I got to try this on the last day of school and of course our kids wanted to go there and we went for lunch. Of course I had to get the half bird because then you can get all the pieces and see how it is. I heard it was really spicy so I just did the hot the one that they said that jalapeño comes without the seeds because I heard it's really spicy and I just want a little bit of the spice and I did not want the Korean flavored which my daughter got because I like my chicken with a dry rub. So we all ordered our food, it was a late lunch and we had another one coming on the way so we added the chicken Cobb salad for her and my mistake, I should've gotten the larger one because the regular one is not as good a deal. Our waiter was super nice super attentive. The food came out fresh and hot. I liked it. The fries were crispy and fresh. Chicken wasn't bad but it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be, but maybe people hyped it up because it wasn't as wow as I thought it would be maybe I got the wrong thing cause my other son usually gets the boneless and he raves about that but it wasn't bad. I didn't eat the pickles or the bread that comes with it so I gave it to the kids. The slaw was fine. The salad I was told it was underwhelming. This is the second time she got it. It was all right. The pies were not it and kinda pricey for pies coming in a slice, but they weren't that great at all sadly. A bit stale. Overall it's fine. The price wasn't too bad. It's for what you get. I think my standards might be a little high thinking back to the HattieBs in Las Vegas and Gus's in town, even though I haven't been to it in a long time, but I may give this one a try again because it wasn't bad and it was a cute place with high stools and fun atmosphere. There's another location. I wonder if that one's better in Austin but this one in round...
Read moreMy friend and I were passing through Round Rock and I am always telling her how wonderful this place is. We stopped in to eat lunch. Not realizing that it was 10:45am and they didn’t open until 11. We walked in and the manager was at the host stand and warmly welcomed us. “Table for 2 ladies?” As we are walking to the table we hear the bartender get loud at him and say “really? It’s not even 11 yet!!” Not realizing we did come in early we told the manager it was no issue and we would wait outside until they opened. He said it was no problem and he would seat us and get us a drink so we had some time to look at the menu. We sat and our server came to get our drink order. He was very friendly and didn’t seem bothered we were a few mins early. However, the bartender made it VERY obvious she was extremely bothered by us being there. She was mixing some sort of drink in a bucket and every time she emptied a glass bottle into it she would slam the bottle in the trash and they were shattering. This was multiple bottles. I wanted to get up and leave, but my friend was excited to try it so we stayed. She walked by our table multiple times and I was hoping to make eye contact and smile in hopes to lighten the tense atmosphere but she walked by without a look every time. None of her coworkers seemed surprised by how she was acting so I’m not sure if this is a regular behavior for her. We waited to order our food until 11 and it came out great. Our server was awesome as well. Bartender was a dark haired girl with tattoos. Visit...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened and finally got a chance to last week. It was a busy lunchtime on President’s Day and there were a handful of people waiting for a table so I verified we could seat ourselves at the bar.
Sam was our server and she was so good about telling us what she recommends. There are multiple levels of spiciness to select from based on your tolerance. We ordered more than we typically would since it was our first time there and we wanted a sampling of what they offer. I got the lil chicken sandwich (dang hot) with broccoli slaw and an order of heavenly eggs. My partner got the 8 piece bites (no hot) with fries. We also shared an order of dirty fries which came with queso and shredded spicy chicken.
Food was delivered quickly and it was fresh. The lil chicken sandwich was actually quite large so I can only imagine what the full size sandwich is like. The Mayo and slaw on top help counter the heat nicely. The broccoli slaw was crunchy and delicious. Only nitpick is that it has golden raisins and I’m not a raisin person. My partner loved his chicken bites and claims it is now his favorite chicken from a restaurant. The heavenly eggs were okay and doesn’t quite live up to the rest of the menu but the dirty fries…I mean, what’s not to love about fries drenched in queso and chicken.
Very happy with the food, speed, and service. Will definitely be...
