So I've had VIA 313 pizza before but typically at the end of an Austin Eats food tour and REALLY enjoyed it. BUT, I live in Round Rock so haven't had an opportunity to go too often. Imagine my giggly delight when I found they had opened up a location in RR! The Mrs. is not a big pizza gal so was not overly enthused about going but I managed to coerce her and am so glad we did. For those who have not had "Detroit Style" pizza, it's not quite a deep dish (although in the neighborhood) but with crispy, caramelized edges and square shape (not doing it justice with that description). Make sure you get it Detroit style as well, while they have other styles, you don't go here for anything but Motor City baby (just trust me and let it wash over you). Nice thing is you can get it half and half with a different recipe on each side which was fantastic news as I had my eye on the Bobo Brazil (spicy honey, sausage, red pepper flakes, and calabrese) and the wife wanted something a little less spicy so she went for the Funkadelic chicken. The Bobo was incredible; the honey really set it off nicely against the crispy crust and provided a nice balance to the heat which was perfect. People who don't like deep dish may be reticent to try this style as there is more dough but imagine crispy dough, a phenomenal combination of two kinds of cheese, and spicy sausage... oh yes sir! The Funkadelic Chicken matched its namesake (I got to have 2 slices of that as well; she's a cheap date); the mix of the gorgonzola and ranch was unexpected but now fully welcomed! Chicken wasn't overcooked and you can tell they use high end ingredients. I'm a big dude and we could not finish a large so also feel like you get your moneys worth. Can't remember name of cocktails we had (must have been good!) but they were also on point in addition to our bartender's service (all too rare these days unfortunately). In short, if I'm looking for a cheat/treat day, this will be my all too obnoxious repeated suggestion. Wonder if they offer a...
Read moreI went to your site specifically to support this business, if I would have known you used doordash for delivery I would have either ordered through another site, or from another business.
Nothing on your website indicates that delivery will be though doordash until after the order has been placed. I make it a point to never use doordash especially after they were caught signing up restaurants without consent from said restaurants and profiting off of them using predatory prince increases.
The pizza was fine, but please give your customers enough information to make informed decisions.
We left a note specifically asking the driver to leave the pizzas on the porch and right the door bell and we would get them. The driver tried to get us to answer the door despite the note and was using his face to keep our drink from falling off of the boxes. We had tor explain to him to please set the food on the porch and we would get it when we were ready.
Dont know about anyone else but I really dont want to drink out of a can that someone just had all over their chin and face. This kind of stuff is exactly why we do not want use delivery services, old school pizza delivery folks always had it on time and on point.
We will not be ordering delivery again based on...
Read moreVia 313 Pizza great spot for some Detroit Style Pizza...which I only heard off. Not all that common in the West Coast. I didn't know Detroit Style Pizza was, still not all that familiar with it, had to look it up. Good size venue with plenty of seating run by friendly, fast and efficient staff. Parking is not an issue either, with plenty of spaces available in the shopping plaza. I came for lunch on a random weekday, it wasn't crowded and I was seated right away. My server was helpful and pleasant, (sorry I can't remember his name...I think he was the bartender as well) checked up on me regularly. The pizza came out fast as well, not much of a wait.
#PizzaPizza ~ DETROIT-STYLE PIZZA: The Detroiter - 4/5 & The Carnivore - 4/5 Luckily I was able to do a 1/2 pizza of one kind and 1/2 of another allowing me to try two pizzas! Both pizzas were solid. Not too heavy or rich. I didn't leave feeling overly stuffed or bloated. While I still prefer thin slice / NYC pizza I'm not opposed to Detroit Style Pizza. I don't detest it like deep dish / Chicago style...yuck!
They also have a brilliant Lunch deal / special which is a total steal for $12; you get 2 slices, salad, and a soda! Unheard of in today's inflated world. I'd love to come back and try the rest...
