Our waitress Josette was very hostile and quite rude the whole time we were at the restaurant. Firstly, she was very gruff and short when she spoke to us and we were uncomfortable almost immediately. At one point, a group of people who did not speak English very well were sat behind us and it was immediately obvious that she was treating them even worse than us. She spoke very quickly and it would be understandably difficult to understand her if English was not your first language. She was condescending towards them the whole time we were there and would emphasize the mistakes they made speaking. Multiple times as she walked away she would be mumbling unnecessary comments under her breath like “why didn’t you just say 4 then?” and “it’s not rocket science”. This behavior was absolutely appalling and my sibling and I were disgusted with the treatment of her customers. To make it even worse, a group of older women came in and they were treated like royalty, further highlighting the disgusting behavior towards the group of spanish-speakers. When we were finished, she couldn’t seem to get us out fast enough and told us twice (within 2 minutes) “when you’re ready, pay the cashier”. Assuming this meant we paid up at the front, we got our things and began to get up to head to the front. Then she comes around asking where we are going. I begin to say we’re going to pay when she cuts me off saying she’s the cashier and gesturing to her uniform as if that makes it clear she is cashier. I would’ve assumed this was the way we should pay if she hadn’t actually said “pay the cashier” insinuating that she wasn’t the cashier.
Overall, I will not be returning to this iHop because of the disgusting and condescending behavior of Josette. I hope that one day she learns to give others their due grace and treat others like human beings instead of nuisances. I understand that the service industry is toiling and hardens you, but that is no excuse for Josette’s just...
Read moreCame in to get my neighbor’s birthday pancakes. Not many people there was not busy but waiter wasn’t making any effort at all. Spilled water all the water all the way to table because it was overflowing. The same cheesecake pancakes that she had two days ago and loved or an even cheesecake flavor this time the only reason you could tell it was the same pancakes was because it had strawberry syrup over the top. I was going to complain for her because she’s older and usually won’t do that but honestly the service we were getting I didn’t even try it it wasn’t even important since we weren’t paying. When we were in there two days ago she was the only one with the coupon and the waiter even brought her a receipt even though she had Payne with the coupon because it had a review on it. This time he didn’t bother he didn’t come back to the table and say you’re good to go or thank you for coming or anything he just quit waiting on us so I guess we were supposed to assume that we didn’t get a check so I finally had to ask. I’ve been in food service all my life this is probably the worst service I’ve ever had at this IHOP and there was even a manager there. The floor was a mass where he spilled the water I told him and he went back and wiped it up with a napkin and there was napkin sticking to the floor and he didn’t even care. But that’s kind of stuff it been happening and they were busy it would’ve been one thing but they didn’t really seem to care that they had customers at all. If that had been the only time I have been to this IHOP I would not be going back and if we had had to pay for the meal I would’ve done more complaining. Really bad service and really dirty restaurant I don’t know how you can mess up a pancake order. Read moreI visited this IHOP on my birthday with my mother for breakfast on 9/1/21. What I had thought would be a pleasant breakfast and awesome start to my birthday was a nightmare. To start, the server was immediately hostile to me and my blind mother. Slapping our menus down and gruffly asking what we want to drink. She brought our drinks out and slammed them on the table.
Unfortunately she brought the incorrect drink and after asking her nicely to bring a coffee instead while she passed by, she completely interrupted me and in a terrible tone and with no eye contact told me she would be with me in a minute. On her way back to the kitchen she slammed her tray into the tray holder and began loudly cursing and mumbling to herself - I assume about us.
I'll pause here and mention she was not masked and my mother and I were as we are dealing with underlying health issues. That's her own decision to choose not to wear one, but I noticed she was not hostile to anyone but us. The only difference was we were the only customers of hers wearing masks. During the whole drink debacle another group came in, who were wearing masks, and she treated then just as terribly. That group was stronger than me as they got up and left because of her mistreatment.
Anyway, food came out, it was cold, whatever. Didn't want this server to murder me so ate a bit here and there, paid and left.
Well, later that night, I had the worst food poisoning of my life. Like in the bathroom with a bucket because a toilet wasn't enough kind of thing. So I can't help but feel like this evil server poisoned me for just existing.
Anyway, unless you want to be treated with disrespect and hostility, getting poisoned, and being stuck on a toilet up to your ears in poo and vomit, don't visit this place and especially avoid the older woman server with the short gray hair. She's...
