During the summer, my children had the opportunity to participate in the half-day camps at the YMCA, and their experience there has truly been the highlight of their summer. Without a doubt, the YMCA has become their favorite destination. Despite facing staffing challenges, the YMCA has remarkably excelled in maintaining the quality of their programs and services. Every staff member we encountered has consistently exhibited a helpful, kind, and pleasant demeanor, contributing to the positive atmosphere.
One aspect we particularly enjoyed was the frequent use of the indoor pool throughout the scorching Texas summer. The pool's shelter from the intense heat was a welcome relief. A useful tip I'd like to share is the value of downloading the YMCA app. While some individuals have mentioned concerns about the YMCA's communication regarding pool closures, my personal experience has been quite the opposite. Thanks to the app, I've remained informed about any pool closures, as well as updates on heat-related cancellations of sporting events and other vital information.
The YMCA boasts an extensive array of programs, and I'm especially thrilled that they've recently introduced pickleball to their offerings. In terms of affordability, the YMCA stands as an accessible option for both adult and children's recreation. A commendable aspect is their commitment to financial inclusivity, offering assistance on a sliding scale to those who might be facing financial constraints. This considerate approach opens doors for individuals and families in need, reflecting a deep understanding of the challenges many of us encounter at times.
It's also worth noting that the YMCA provides childcare services, allowing parents to entrust their children to capable hands while focusing on their own workouts. In sum, I am impressed with the Chasco YMCA and its comprehensive offerings.
The YMCA has proven itself to be an exceptional choice for children's and adults' recreational pursuits. Their dedication to both quality and inclusivity is highly commendable. I'm genuinely excited about the experience my children had and the positive impact it has made on our summer. The Chasco YMCA has earned my highest...

Read moreI want to just say. My son has been in the after school program with the YMCA at Gattis Elementary for 3 years. We absolutely love love love the team that you had there. Everyone was super nice and he for the most part have been happy. As a parent you want your child to be happy in his environment and be treated with respect. We not only expect that from the people who represent the business but we PAY for this. The current staff that you have at his school has been nothing like your previous staff. Many times I have came to the door to pick up my kids and my knocks go unanswered. To a point the kids have to yell to let someone know that thereâs someone at the door. This last experience and the email from Mrs Lorig was the very last draw. I understand rules and I also understand accountability. My son has ALWAYS been picked up on time with the exception when the school had a program and your staff was NO were to be found. It would have been helpful to notify the parents were their kids where going to be located once again for 10min which I take ownership of and will pay the 10 dollar. However driving in the rain and in AUSTIN TRAFFIC driving over the speed limit risking my life to get there on time to pick up my son by 6:30 and all I get is a 4 min slip and a very RUDE!!! Email treating me of removal. And to be inconsiderate of the fact that I too have a job! Your company gets 1000âs Iâd dollars from me with summer camp after school and gym membership. And to have someone tell me after a 4 min late which can be me walking from my car into the school that my son will be kicked out of the program is total unacceptable. I will absolutely NOT SIGN my son up for your program next year if you have this rude person still employed or working st this school. I will also notify the school of this unacceptable behavior. My next step is to contact the CEO and report to them. To be late to pick up my son is NOT a habit after 3 years and only 2 incidents one of which was 4 mins...
