I heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a shot today.
The menu has a lot of variety but I was interested in the pork quesadilla tacos They come 2 to a order
You can buy the combo with your choice of a side and a drink for $14. I believe just 2 tacos with consome seven dollars.
So there’s a drive up here, but you can’t order from the menu you can look at it. My advice would be to order from the app and just go to the drive-through and pick it up or you can order directly from the drive-through window. My server was polite, Maribel I think was her name And of course they have the good old iPad where you could pay with your credit card and of course they flip it back to you asking for a tip which everybody uses these days so the default 20% pops up, no thanks I left a custom $1 dollar cause I’m not sure what I’m even getting. I hate that you have to tip before you know how good the services or the food ridiculous anyways.
I was told to pull up to the front and park at one of the pick up stalls and after about five minutes, my food was brought out to me and I was on my way.
I didn’t end up buying two orders which was for tacos and it should’ve been 2 cups of the liquid dipping juice consume but they combined it into one container for tacos and one bowl did I get cheated a bowl maybe?.
So first off if I was gonna eat in my car luckily I wasn’t no napkins no forks nothing just the container of food and that’s it luckily at home. I have these things if I need them..
Tacos were kind of small there were some pickled onions and inside the taco itself, which look like a fresh homemade corn tortilla was cheese and of course the pork I’m visualizing all the TikTok’s. I’ve seen of Quesabilleria with beef, gooey cheese, cilantro, and onions, but this wasn’t the case tacos weren’t really hot. They were kind of soggy not really fresh as I thought they would be or grilled totally different experience. Maybe I’m in the wrong location the wrong place
If you want true quesabilleria there’s this taco truck type place off Grand Ave. Parkway in Pflugerville that makes an awesome taco.
So obviously four tacos is more like a lunch item. They weren’t really big not that filling I ate three of them and would I buy it again probably not because I wasn’t really blown away. I did like the fact that the corn tortilla seemed like they were made fresh, which is a plus these days, but I think more filling of pork would’ve been nice as you can see with the pictures overall I may try a few different things next time but for a quick service and something different I would definitely recommend giving them a shot. The sides seem pretty interesting. Maybe next time three out of five stars rating. Value for your money...
Read moreAnother update: I fondly remember getting cheese quesadillas here late at night while pregnant and it hit the spot!! I'm glad we can all find something we like to eat here.
Update: Updating to 5 stars. I gave them another shot and dined in person. The kids chicken quesadilla was exactly what I was craving and I'm glad I could have it so late at night when most other restaurants are closed. The red velvet cake was pretty great!!
Original review: Sorry y'all for giving you your first 1 star review at the new Round Rock location. I'm sure it will be better another time, I'm just in such a bad mood because my mouth feels like it's on fire because I got the wrong tacos and I can't stand spicy food.
We get there and are excited to try their drive thru because we have limited time. The street planning is really poor. You have to block the street to wait in line behind just one car. How this was designed, built, and opened like this in 2023, I don't understand.
Then we have to wait in curbside pickup spaces like the others who ordered theirs via drive thru. The signs at curbside pickup are misleading and look like you have to go inside to pickup your food.
They bring us our tacos and we drive home. We try to find out which one is Fish & Chips and Medi Mushroom. Turns out, we got two Paneer tacos, one Tikka Chicken taco, and one we don't know what it's called, but spicy beef taco.
It's impossible to open the containers without pushing the bottom inwards. I tried so many utensils. A new design for that may be warranted if we're not the only ones.
I didn't know the paneer taco wasn't the fish & chips until half way through, I saw there was no way this was fish and the topping was all wrong compared to the taco I just had at the downtown velvet taco. I ate it anyway, as it was fine.
I get to what I thought was Medi Mushroom and I brush off as many avocados and red bell pepper as I can. Weird, I thought, as I don't remember those on the taco. If I knew, I wouldn't have ordered it. Then I take a bite and end up politely spitting it out. "What kind of mushroom is that?!" I thought. I hated the taste and I figured it was lamb because the Medi Mushroom is Mediterranean, and I'm repulsed by lamb meat. I hand the rest to my husband and he says it's a beef fajita taco and offers some of his chicken Tikka which he says is tasty. I'm done trying new tacos I didn't order.
Good thing I'm not a vegetarian and don't have any allergies!
They literally left me a poor taste in my mouth and I had to drink a milky latte as I typed this to...
Read moreMy experience here was a mixed bag. On the positive side, the service was great and the employees were really nice. The quality of the meat and the corn tortillas in the tacos was also very good. However, the main issue was that the food generally lacked flavor, especially spice. I was not a fan of their guacamole or the queso. The queso in particular seemed like a basic Sysco brand Velveeta cheese sauce. This really clashes with their mission statement, which claims they make tacos with the "care and quality ingredients as fine dining." Generic-tasting queso and guac don't align with that vision. Their mission also says that "tacos don't have to be associated with Tex-Mex," which at this location, felt like an excuse to serve bland food. It was more like a Northern taco place, not what you'd find in San Antonio, Miami, or San Diego. It was disappointing for someone hoping for real heat instead of just a jalapeño being the max. The tacos were also missing citric acid, and having to add it myself felt like a basic step was missed. The atmosphere was too hip and modern for my taste, and the music was way too loud. They also didn't have any plastic forks available, which made sharing a bowl difficult. While the staff is great and some ingredients are high-quality, this location isn't living up to the brand's promise of "the art of...
