In my experience and view,, it seems like, all these good reviews are from their friends. It can’t be as good as good other hard working restaurant trying to get better. When I eat cheese burger combo meal less than $10, I have no complaints. I get full too. I'd like to give this place 0 star if It's possible. In Korea, bonjuk advertised that their food amount is large in response to their uncommon price to competitors. It's barely small children portions. I also believe they used Chinese mushroom & vegetables which is a lot cheaper & unsafe than Korean or American. I guessed according to their food portion. McDonald, Wendy's , or fast food chain is worth more. Bonjuk's slogan is slow food. Which leads to better food than fast foods. This is not the case. These particular franchise is very very greedy. Their sides foods are only two little kinds and taste so bitter unlike side dishes in Korea. I would say, it's worse than happy meal. Korean foods are known for many kinds of side dishes unless their food is super good. Their side dishes are the worst in my life time experience. This place is shame for Koreans. I saw those non korean reviews. I'm so ashamed. They would feel a lot different if they go to popular Korean restaurants even around here. After all, this is worst Korean porridge & food compared to those in Korea & American. The worst Korean restaurant I've ever been worldwide. There are good Americans & bad ones. I feel like this place is owned by bad Korean or imitators. I would report them to health department right away if I see any mishandling of foods or cockroaches...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for dinner on March 29. About five minutes after we sat down, the server came to take our order. Just as we were about to start ordering, a Korean couple walked in and sat down. The server finished taking our order, and we waited for a long time, but our food still hadn’t arrived. That wasn’t even the most frustrating part—the most infuriating thing was that the Korean couple, who arrived later than us, received their food first.
I was both angry and confused. My boyfriend asked the server why the people who arrived after us got their food before us. The server said they would check, then came back and told us our food would be ready soon—without a single apology. Later, the man from that couple also received his meal, while we were still waiting. We had to wait even longer before our food finally arrived. And from start to finish, there was no explanation or apology whatsoever.
Also, I remember that when I ordered porridge before, it always came with a bowl of cold soup. I got it the last time I came, and I also received it when I ordered from the same restaurant in a different city. But this time, it wasn’t included.
So, to anyone who isn’t Korean and is considering eating here—if you don’t want to be treated like this, it’s better to go somewhere else. I won’t be coming back to...
Read moreVisited Bonjuk and Bibimbap for the first time a few days ago with my sister. The establishment tucked in the plaza where Big Lots used to be. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The establishment is small and extremely understaffed. There is only one person who is in charge of the front (greeting customers, taking orders, assisting customers who order takeout and bringing out the food); hence the service being on the slow side. After being seated, we waited over 45 mins for our food to arrive to our table.
Their menu offers a large variety of porridge, regular bibimbap and bibimbap in hot stone and stews. I ordered the seafood porridge and my sister ordered the bibimbap. Each dish comes in a tray with 3 different type of banchan and a cup of iced water. The bibimbap also came with a cup of broth. Both the bibimbap and the porridge were very well seasoned and were very generous with the toppings. Overall, the food was amazing. If the service would have been faster, our experience at Bonjuk and Bibimbap would have been a...
