I respectfully want to bring awareness to the owners/management that some re-training of employees could be beneficial. Especially the last time we visited (Sep 3 2025, around 11 am) There was one girl in particular (blond, working in the back, fulfilling orders). We got our order, went back to the car to check (granted we prob could have checked it at the window-but the crowds were building, we didn't want to hold up the pickup line I figured, "everything is probably there") we were missing one of our fries. We'd ordered 2 mushrooms, 1 onion ring and 2 small fries. I went back to tell them (the girl at the pickup window was very sweet and friendly) but the girl as mentioned before got super fiesty "I put four bags in there, i remember!" "Yes she (me) does have them". I tried to calmly point out "yes, there were four bags in there, but there needed to be five." She completely disregarded me and went back-but I could still hear her- she irritably told someone, "She's lying, I put four bags in there, she thinks she's missing some fries, but she's not!" The nice girl at the window-who also looked taken aback by this girl's reaction-got it sorted for me. Clearly something was going on with the angry one, maybe she felt attacked? Or her ego was taking a hit...? Either way, her behavior was unnecessary. And I'll be it, maybe there are people out there that lie about missing part of their order, but it's not like her pay is effected by it.
Food is hit or miss but does lean more on the good side. I would NOT recommend the sweet potato fries. 3/3 they've been burnt/overcooked. But their regular fries are great. And they have good shakes and the burgers have always been yummy. Wish there was better seating (or any at all) but this place is always buzzing, so I get that's possibly why they don't have tables. Either way, a great place to support a...
Read moreOk, this is tricky for me to write. Obviously this is an establishment in northern Utah. It was featured on Food Network, has a lot of history to it, and locals love it. Overall, it’s worth a visit.
That said, there are some aspects that I do not like about Burger Bar. And I want to be clear, these things don’t mean I don’t come back. There are just things I wish were different.
First, the good. Their fries are far and away the BEST fries out of any burger spot I’ve visited in Utah, including the chains and larger local spots. Crispy, tasty, just the right amount of salt. Truthfully, they’re the main reason I return.
Likewise their shakes are great. Great texture, thick, and delicious. Great combo with fries. (Also, fries and a pickle is delicious).
The thing I wish were better: the burgers. It sucks, but they’re more like beef sandwiches. Their cooking method just doesn’t do it for me. There’s little char flavor. But the biggest offender are the buns. They’re often gummy. And for the second-most important piece of burger, I’d hope buns would be a hit.
Ultimately, the quality of the burgers are just inconsistent. I get one every once in a while to remember that they’re not for me, secretly hoping something had changed.
I feel that this place would be better if they made their existing burgers as smash burgers. Get nice Lacey edges that work well with a “gummier” bun.
If someone from out of town were to ask if this place is worth a visit, I’d say yes, of course. But they should temper their burger expectations.
Everything else, though? Great. Employees are always friendly, some food is fantastic.
Don’t go in the middle of the day in summer without sunscreen.
6/10 would recommend with some significant...
Read moreIt's really sad to see the burger bar's responses to these reviews. They don't fix the problem. They don't offer a free meal/side/shake or even just a discount for people who have had a terrible dining experience. It's called customer retention and it's worth losing a tiny bit of money to keep your customers happy and they will continue to come back and spread the good word. They will (and already did) lose many customers this way, is obvious they truly don't care about their customers. If they don't change that soon they will be out of business. Just telling customers how long you've been open (you lasted that long because I've heard rumors you used to be really good) and saying "I'm sorry we failed please consider giving us another chance." Isn't good enough. Something along the lines of "We sincerely apologize and in order to make sure all our customers are treated well we are willing to offer you __[insert discount or free item here] on your next visit. Thank you for being a valued customer and we hope to see you again." It's that easy! You have to spend money to make money. It seems like you've lost what made you northern Utah's best burger place, compassion for the community. Must be new management or something. The employees must not get paid a lot either because every single one of those 15 year olds (not one looked over 21) looked like they absolutely hate being there. They don't know how to cook yet or how to make food with love, they are just regurgitating what they were trained to do and just slap ingredients together not caring if it looks/tastes/is good at all. Please Burger Bar, try harder and maybe give a damn and you'll be the best burger...
