TERRIBLE QUALITY.
EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE -- SPECIFICALLY THE MANAGER on duty 5/30/20 ~7pm.
Having returned home with take-out dishes, we were beyond disappointed with both meals. The chicken (far more breaded gristle than anything else) and the beef (very little and cooked to a rubbery consistency) were simply inedible.
After stewing on the issue for a brief period, we determined that we simply needed to return and request a refund.
Upon arrival, we were very quiet and cordial, so as not to disturb others or impose upon their experience. When offered a credit or to have the dishes re-made, we politely requested a refund rather than wait for what we expected to be the same quality a second time around (not to mention either wait in the public space during C19 lockdown or repeat the drive back and forth). The staff asked that we wait to speak with the manager.
THE MANAGER emerged from the rear and BEGAN AN EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE DIATRIBE, the likes of which neither of us have ever witnessed in customer service (this was rather loud, surrounded by many other customers easily within earshot). Arguing that "Over half of it has already been eaten and why didn't you call first? This was over two hours ago." This is simply not true. The plates were barely touched, as we found the food disgusting and the pick up was less than one hour prior, with us driving over 20 minutes each way. Why would one call in to complain of the food's quality, and if so, how would management be able to witness the quality of what is coming out their the kitchen?
Regardless of the circumstances, our biggest issue is that THE MANAGER WAS BEYOND RUDE AND SIMPLY AGGRESSIVE, behaving as if we were trying to scam. When I shared my feeling that this was a poor decision on his part and that it is foolish to verbally assault your customers directly in front of several others, and that I was offended and feeling ready to leave scathing reviews, his reply was, "Go right ahead."
I was beside myself and questioned again, "Are you really willing to treat your customers this way and accept the negative feedback for the sake of a $24 ticket?" His reply was, "Yes, go right ahead."
I'm completely flabbergasted by this behavior. On our way out, I inquired with the staff as to his name so that I can refer to him specifically when speaking to his employer, but was told, "We can't tell you that." My sincere hope is that this review finds it's way back to the establishment's ownership and this manger receives a little continuing education and sorely needed professional development. He has quite a bit to learn about proper manners and a very long way to go in improving his people skills.
Again, let's not forget, the food was terrible. There was no apology, no mention of speaking with the cooks. There was only aggression in repeating, "I can give you a credit or we can make it again." There's no way that we will ever want to eat from this kitchen again, but the greatest offense was this angry little man's treatment of us. F* you very much, Mr. Manager.
This is one of those, "I wish ZERO STARS was an...
Read moreThe stars this restaurant has been give are inflated. When I go to a sit down restaurant, I expect the food to be better than what I make at home and better than fast food. Unfortunately, I recommend you save your money and go to Panda Express.
The hostess wanted to seat us next to one of the only other tables in the restaurant with people. I said no and asked to be seated in another empty both further around. She tried to take us all the way around and seat us in a booth with a low wall that would have put us even closer to them. I said no and I want to sit where I asked. She grudgingly allowed it and threw our menus on the table then puffed off without saying another word. This kind of set the tone for the rest of the evening.
We ordered vegetable soup for 2 and a share platter. The soup came in a huuuuge bowl with at least a gallon of soup. We thought it was for 2, but there was enough there for a large family. The platter came and it was disappointing. It came after 5 minutes if ordering and was not fresh. The wontons had no filling. The paper chicken was greasy, salty, and tasted like they had been sitting around. The pork was rubbery, but the sauce on it was pretty good. The spring rolls were pretty good, not fresh, but still okay to eat. The shrimp tasted like it was frozen. They tried to cover up the fishy taste by over breading it and frying it for a bit too long.
We both ordered chicken for the main course. The fried rice had an okay flavor, but did not tasted fresh at all. The rice was dry. The chicken on both dishes were the exact same being that it was a price that was breaded and fried, then cut into long strips. The sauce was different. Hers was lemon chicken and was the worst lemon chicken we have ever had. I’ve personally had Asian foods in many different states, cities, and about a dozen different countries. My dish was pepper salt chicken. They should call it peppers with an s. It was covered in sliced jalapeños to the point that the chicken was not savory. Also, the portions were huuuge. We felt bad for leaving so much food in our plates. We didn’t take it to go because the food was awful. To top it off, our fortune cookies had the same fortunes.
The place looked nice indoors. It looked very clean. The music was classical songs and I don’t mean that in a good way. It made the atmosphere confusing. I thought it was odd that they bring a huge cart past all the guests when they’re cleaning tables. It made more sense later because they do t pre-buss the tables. All the empty dishes pile up. The waitresses seemed nice, but different ones keep coming by your table every 2 minutes often asking the same questions as the waitress before them.
I will not come back here again. I feel line I can pick up a cook book and make better Chinese food than they can, which is...
Read moreI have such mixed feelings. The restaurant was clean and the service was prompt. The food came out hot and quickly. Our server seemed to be having a really bad day. But we tried to friendly to cheer her up with little success.
The main problem though was with the menu and staff education with dietary restrictions. We called ahead to make sure they had gluten-free options. We also checked their website which had dishes on the menu clearly marked as gluten-free. When we arrived, the physical menu had no such markings. In addition, we were told that the listings on the website were incorrect. After needing to check with the chef, our server showed us a handful of items that were supposedly gluten-free. One of the people in our group is gluten-sensitive. She ordered the strawberry chicken which was one of the items listed as gluten-free both on the website and from our server. It seemed to be made with cornstarch but it must have been fried in the same oil as gluten items because it wasn't long after we left and our group member was very sick.
In this day and age of so many people with food allergies and sensitivities, I thought a restaurant of their reputation would be more aware and responsible in this regard.
I personally ordered the Hawaii chicken and it had no flavor. I mixed some of the sauce from her Strawberry chicken into mine and it was better but still pretty bland. Her chicken was also full of gristle.
However, the lettuce wraps were quite good. And my husband enjoyed his chicken chow mein. One other person in our group had the sweet & sour chicken and they liked it.
But the inattention to dietary restrictions and the really bland nature of my dish coupled with the server's bad mood was enough that we won't...
