This is my family's favorite go to spot. We have been coming since opening day and we even have a favorite, regular waitress, Anna. Anna is a special kind of gem and I can't thank her enough or say enough about her. You see, dining out can be stressful- to say the least. I have 2 sets of twins, ages 6, 6,1,1 PLUS a singleton eho is 2. We started coming when my second set of twins were newborns. Even with having another adult with me, my hands are full and I am typically focused on getting kids fed, keeping the 2 year old at the table, and preventing inevitable spills. Anna takes the stress away. She goes out of her way to come say hello if we aren't in her section, she holds the babies for me if they are getting fussy so I can eat. If one of the babies spills on themselves, she grabs a wad of napkins and places it between the baby's onesie and skin so he isn't cold, she brings other waitresses to play and entertain the babies in shifts so all other customers get the attention they need but I still have a diversion so I can eat. When you have as many kids as I do, and as little as they are, it feels like you are running non-stop, and trying to train them all at once can feel like heading cats. Anna let's me have a break to actually eat and enjoy it. The service alone is enough to keep me coming back. If I had the funds right now, I'd ask Anna if she wanted a job as a nanny. If you sit in Anna's section, make sure you leave a nice tip. Your drinks stay filled, she's warm and personable, and she goes above and beyond her call of duty.
Did I mention the food is also really good and they do a fantastic job of keeping it fresh? There is a huge variety of American and American Chinese food (My college roommate was a Chinese exchange student and was offended by what we call Chinese food. 🤣 She says "This is not Chinese.) There is a sushi bar where the chef makes the rolls fresh, and a Mongolian grill. My go to is the broccoli beef. The broccoli is always bright green with a crisp and the beef is tender. I also load upon the various crab rolls. 😋🤤
The best part? No arguments about what's for dinner, no cooking, and no cleaning! Win!
Dinner for the 7 of us is about $66 with drinks,...
Read moreThe place feels cold when you enter and I can tell you that it feels cold for a reason, it's cold.
I guess they keep it cold to keep the sushi fresh, but the odd thing is your food gets cold very quickly.
The plates are not chilled however, they act like it
The plate seems to suck the heat right out of your food. If you don't WOLF IT DOWN, right off the steam table, and you sit and have a conversation, your food will taste quite cool.
Even the Mongolian BBQ, cooked on the grill, gets cold quickly.
Really strange, how quickly your food gets cold, I don't mean room temperature...
I mean cold cold
It's an odd sensation to bite into honey chicken, sesame chicken or general tso's chicken and the food, the meat, is cool to the touch.
The service is beyond compare BUT you MUST have HOT / WARM food to go with it.
Just sayin'
The Mongolian sauce is very thin and watery, like diluted soy sauce, it's not thick and RICH like the Mongolian sauce you'll be used to, when going to other Mongolian BBQ places.
They did give a $1 discount for senior meals, not the $1.65 you would expect, because they do advertise at 10% discount for seniors, but at least it's something.
None of the other places I have visited, like Lucky buffet near the Newgate Mall or Asian buffet in Layton, gives a discount for seniors.
Some of the flavors were a little bit odd to me compared to the other buffets I have mentioned... I'm used to a certain kind of taste and just something was off, that's why three stars.
The Mongolian BBQ I have had at other places stayed hot /warm on the plate for a long time, so I was surprised that it got so cold, so quickly at...

So I am not sure what I expected. I read a lot of the reviews and I was interested because of the high ratings. But I was disappointed not because it was a bad buffet but I excepted something more. To start the service- the service was good not great but they made sure our drinks were full and that is good enough for me. The ambiance-it is a really nice place with lots of seating they have TV's up which kinda made it feel a little like a sports bar not that this is bad just felt out of place. The food-here is where it gets tricky because of all the reviews I was expecting 5 star food but what I got was medicore buffet food which tasted like it's been left in the fridge for two days then reheated. That is exactly what you except for a buffet but I had my expectations set higher. Selection- there was a good selection at the buffet there was your regular Chinese food choices as well as some American food sprinkled in. There was fish and some crab looking legs(they were not good) there was also sushi, a dessert buffet and a Mongolian grill. Price- the price for a Sunday afternoon was about 35 for two people not including tip. they charge 2.50 for soda with refills and 14.95 for the food which considering the selection is perhaps understandable.
So if you are looking for a place that has lots of choice this is the place. However, the food is just not going to live up...
