So, to the person complaining they were told $11.99 in per person, you are wrong. I think the language barrier may have been the issue. Had you looked at the ginormous menu board, it CLEARLY states per pound. This is your bad for not clarifying things that are very clearly posted on the biggest part of the menu. So your butthurtedness is all on you. We ordered two chicken curry meals. Wife ordered hers mild and mine was medium. They medium had the kick, roughly, of a jalapeno. So not really spicy, rather just enough to feel it. Wife said she shoulda ordered hers the same. It was $13.99 each and came with a big thing of rice. We asked for a second container of rice because we each only were able to eat half or each of our currys. No charge for another huge serving of rice. The naan is between $1.99 for butter naan and $4.99 for coconut naan. I got butter and wife got garlic butter ($2.99). Including tip, we paid $35 for enough food for 4 people. Some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten. We highly recommend to all that like Indian food to stop in and try it out. There is a mild language barrier, but as long as you make sure of your requests, they fulfill them. Very nice people with great Indian food. We will be returning for sure! Keep in mind that lunch buffet prices are $11.99/lb and dinner is $13.99/lb. We ordered the actual meal for $13.99 each and we probably had 3-4 lbs of food. We ate half and took the rest home for dinner later. The people saying they didn't get enough food are either crazy or they think a small meal is a large pizza each. Or both. Trust me, there is plenty of food. Again, we paid $35 for the equivalent of 4 adult sized meals. I eat a medium pizza by myself in one sitting so if I say this is plenty of food, you'll understand what I'm basing it off of. The only negative thing, if you could call it negative, would be that it took all of 15 minutes to get our food with only 4 or people eating at the time we ordered. But that's because it was made fresh, and to order. Also it's partly because he was cooking fresh buffet meats at the same time, so he was busy. 15 minutes was a minimal wait for excellent chicken curry. If you've never had Indian food, go try this place and see what you're missing. You can...
Read moreWe visited this place on a Thursday evening around 6pm. There was not a single customer in the store at all!! The price and the experience definitely wasn’t worth it— the food didn’t live up to the comments I’ve read below either. The food was just mediocre. Anyways— We arrived and the gentleman working told us he would be right back and walked outside following another gentleman- seemed as if maybe he was a business partner or something because they were discussing business details and he didn’t return for about 5 minutes. We weren’t sure what to get so we asked and we’re given a couple of samples on plastic spoons. The samples were from the buffet and definitely weren’t warm. I was still excited to try the new uncommon restaurant in town!! Who wouldn’t be; right? We ordered 3 entree cups each- of (chicken tikka masala and two other chicken entrees) and we’re told that each entree comes with white rice. (We did NOT order buffet for $11.99 per pound.) We also ordered 2 garlic naan, one butter naan, two 16 oz fountain sodas and one of the special mango drinks in the cooler across from the register. The gentleman scooped all of our food from the buffet trays that I just sampled from but were all uncovered and cold!!! The gentleman brought the food to the table about ten minutes later. There was only three 2.5 cup size masala entrees and one small styrofoam container also with about 2.5 cups of rice in it. (My husband already dipped his spoon in his food so I didn’t include his soup cup) He told us he would be right back with plates. He returned with 3 paper plates and all of the naans; told us to enjoy and walked away. Really??? My husband stopped him the next time he walked over to the business partner and politely asked for more rice.. (if each entree that we ordered and paid for comes with rice, why did he only give us ONE box of rice?) The amount of food in this photo + one more soup cup was $76.00!!! I have eaten Indian food prior to this visit and was pleasantly surprised with portion sizes and prices. The food here was just okay, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone as a first or a last resort unless you’re willing to empty your pockets for a “snack...
Read moreWas passing through the town and decided to dine in. Biggest mistake ever. We are of Indian origin and know what real Indian cuisine tastes like. First off, the Indian lady out front did not even greet us as we entered. She was surly and didn’t even smile and wasn’t attentive. A query I asked was answered with her back towards me as she did not even bother looking at me to answer. Coming to the food, we ordered chicken biryani and chicken curry with naan bread. Gosh. Disaster. The biryani serving portion was huge but was just a lot of rice laden with a ton of turmeric powder. It was reeking of that spice and only tasted of turmeric as well. Moreover, there were carrots and bell pepper and raw onion and just 3-4 tiny chicken pieces. The protein deserved to be at least a bit more for the price you pay. They shoud really skip the veggies and raw onion in the biryani- its not authentic. There wasn’t even a hint of biryani spices. I personally make a more delicious biryani at home per my family. The chicken curry was bland and completely devoid of flavour. Naan bread was thick and chewy instead of thin and crispy. I would never never never recommend this place if you truly want to experience real Indian cuisine. This place is a definite no-go. Zero marks to the Indian lady at the front. 2 stars only for the cleanliness and spaciousness
P.S— Edit, next morning, I ended up with diarrhoea and severe bloating. I don’t know what kind of ingredients were used, but they definitely...
