Honestly, the biggest thing keeping this place from 5 stars is how the staff acts when closing. That behavior alone puts this place at a 3. I get y'all wanna go home but if it's that serious, then don't play exit music at 2:05a and be surprised people are still standing around. Cut the music off at 1:59a and people will leave on their own. Play actual bad music at the end to motivate them.
Besides that: everything else you want from a dance club is there. The DJ is above average and plays a variety of music. No discrimination on the genre too, besides country; which any respectable DJ would.
The bar is fairly efficient at getting you drinks. The crowd is usually dope and very into dancing. The beauty level is also above average, not including me lowering it.
The downs: The dancefloor gets sticky and dirtier the closer you get to the DJ booth. I've seen glass shatter numerous times, and because there's no floater, you literally will only see it addressed if a patron tells someone.
The cover is $10 which isn't a bad price, but the vibe of the establishment doesn't justify it; especially when you consider that it used to be $5, that 5th Ave, a more middle-class establishment, charges the same or less, and that across the street they don't charge at all and have an equally good DJ with a bit less hip hop through the night.
Another minor thing: no real light effects to go with the music. Not a deal-breaker, but I have to mention this so curious readers take a mental note and observe how much that benefits the energy when done right.
Despite my review, I still recommend going here. The DJ alone is worth it. Unbiased opinion: I put him over most of the DJs in the area....
Read moreWatch out reviewing them. The owner changes responses and doesn’t address concerns in a professional manner. The bartender and piano players were great, but the rest of the establishment is sub-par. We made a reservation on Open Table for an actual table, but the bouncer was the one seating people and stuck us at the bar. Additionally, you have to pay $10 cover no matter what - even if you have a reservation. On top of that, you're served drinks in plastic cups and given plastic silverware to eat your meal with. The bar also didn't have any fruit, so forget about a lime with your gin and tonic or shot of tequila. For a place that charges $10 per person just to set foot in the establishment, the least they could do is give you actually cutlery to eat with. Stay away from here and go to the better places just down the street. I would suggest Bar Louie or Mesa. I'd like to add that the owner felt it necessary to change their original response to a one that was more condescending. Here is a screenshot of the...
Read moreThis was my first time at Tequila Blue & it also is very rare that I leave a review - but this place was worth reviewing. One of the staff members Trevor, went absolutely above and beyond. He is the kind of guy that you want on your staff, and one that you never let go. He truly cares about the people that walk through this establishment. He is kind, caring and goes above and beyond like no other & makes sure everybody gets home safely. Another shout out I would like to give is to Lucas, who as well stands out from the bunch when it comes to customer service. Honestly, it is very unlikely to come across one gentlemen, yet alone two who genuinely care for customers safety the way that they do. Whether you are in a pinch, or need some help, they are there to help you along the way and make sure that you get home safely. They are the kind of guys that are truly non-replaceable on your team. What excellent staff they are, and definelty deserve to be compensated for it. Thank you, Trevor and Lucas! We...
