Had a good time, my first visit. Painted some pottery with my fiance. Overall it's an art studio atmosphere for people of all ages. I didn't have a problem with the pricing, many options of all price ranges to choose from. The staff was very friendly and informative.
The area to pick your pieces to paint was a bit close to the art tables, which can be a little challenging to move around and find a piece without disturbing someone, but I'm a people person so it didn't bother me. Just something to take into consideration.
It takes a week to get your finished piece once you're done painting. I think that's very reasonable considering the amount of projects going on daily within the business. I was a little bummed that my fiance had no problem picking up her deathstar coin bank but my box was lost. Not a super big deal though, life happens and people picking up items for someone else most likely happened and I get that. They refunded me and apologized. All good for me. I'll take it as someone else really liked it and wanted it more than me. Some people might react differently since you spend so much time painting your piece for it to get lost, but life is too short to get angry about the little stuff.
I saw some people in other reviews complaining about the pricing and the size of the place. I understand where they are coming from, but I think it also depends on perspective. The experience was good and it was mainly about spending the time painting and having fun doing it. If you're not certain on a price of a piece definitely ask, staff is very friendly and approachable. They supply everything and it's a very open age range environment. Brushes and supplies vary in quality, I didn't have an issue with the supplies at the table we sat at, but if you do I would recommend just asking, again they are very friendly and approachable. I would definitely...

Read moreI scheduled a 1-hour class a month in advance to try and have a special anniversary date, since my girlfriend loves pottery. We are in a long distance relationship, and I was more than willing to drive the 5-hours to see her and have a special date near her hometown. She was very excited for our date, and we planned the whole weekend around the area. I have personally never done pottery, so we were just looking for a simple class- nothing in particular.
When the day came, the studio called an hour before the class to inform us that there was a festival going on in the area, so there would be a $10 parking fee for "their lot." No big deal, or so I thought. When we arrived at the studio, we saw no lot- only occupied street parking. I drove around the block to find the nearest parking since it was now raining, and found a parking garage on the next block over, charging $10 (which I assume was the "lot"). After we ran over to the studio as quickly as possible, we were ~10 minutes late.
The worker that greeted us said that she couldn't do our class because another class was booked for the upcoming hour. There was a single unattended man with his child sat in the quiet studio, and two workers. I asked if there was anything we could possibly do with the remaining 50 minutes before the next class, and I let her know that I drove 5-hours to try to make the day special for our anniversary. With a disingenuous smile, the worker replied "Sorry, I can reschedule you."
To avoid embarrassing my girlfriend, I decided to walk out of the studio without getting into any argument. Our experience with the Creative Arts Studio left us feeling extremely...
