So this is actually a funny little story. so I was sitting down and i had brought in a caramel hot chocolate from starbucks because i actually don't care too much for their coffee, but I am a fan of their soups, and it was still like 10:45 so I didn't exactly want a soup that early so i was sitting down by the window when one of the employees approached me and said politely that they did not allow outside food or drinks, which I didnt know but at the same time I was thinking like are you serious, I see multiple customers with tea and waterbottles, I paid $6 for this hot chocolate im going to drink it periodt! which i actually didn't until I left because i don't like confrontation, which is quite hilarious for the amount of attitude i have. But anyways i was a bit boiled from that and i wrote an email about it, which I probably shouldn't have now that i think about it. But anyways onto the real story, so 12:00 rolls around and im like okay i guess i'll get a soup now but my favorite was the cheddar brocoli, and they said it wasn't ready so I settled for the tomato and I asked if it was chunky or not because i have problems with texture, like if something isn't the right texture then I could honestly throw up, so they told me that it didn't have chunks in it, which it actually did but thats beside the point, so I walk down the block to another coffee shop to eat my soup because i wasn't entirely comfy with the environment of atomic. So i get to the other coffee shop and open up my soup, and of course it's chunky, so I call and tell them that I didn't really like the soup and I just wanted to know if i could get a refund. So the guy on the phone apologizes and tells me that the soup I originally wanted would be ready in an hour, so I wait and walk back to atomic, and He apologizes once again which i really appreciated, and then he gives me a full refund and a $5 atomic card. The way that he handled it was pretty awesome and I really love that, My new soup is good and they were completely friendly when...
Read moreUse to really like this place. But my last few times I had bad experiences from the extremely rude staff. Was hanging out with a friend and decided to have coffee. My friend had a bag of cookies she bought at Astoria across the street. She wasn’t eating them in Atomic, she just had purchased them and then we walked over to get coffee. Not once was the bag opened, but one of the Rude employees decided to give us the third degree about supposed health code violations “bringing outside food in” which is complete lie. I called the Michigan Dept of Health and inquired about it. They said there is no violations. I said repeatedly to this rude employee the bag is not opened and he just kept going on, when I finally said I’m calling the owners to complain.. he stopped and walked away.
Another time I went there, I paid for my coffee and had $3 change coming back. Instead of handing it to me....she threw it in the tip jar, and walked away! Then I get my drink "Honey Vanilla Latte" and clearly the barista (who was very distracted talking to other people) forgot to put the espresso in. The drink tasted like warm milk. I pointed this out, and instead of remaking it. She stood there arguing with me. She did not remake it. Then to top it off, their To Go Cups are way smaller then their in house mugs. 16oz! For $5.50 they should be atleast 20 oz.!! So all together with the $3 change they stole from me and the price $5.50, I paid $8.50 for a 16oz cup of warm milk. I emailed the manager twice and the Owners who never responded. Terrible way to treat paying customers!! Never will go back...
Read moreAtomic Coffee is the kind of place that makes you instantly appreciate the craft of specialty coffee. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is both lively and welcoming—modern without feeling intimidating, and perfectly suited for anything from a quick caffeine run to a relaxed coffee break.
The real star here is, of course, the coffee. Atomic has built a strong reputation for innovative roasting, and it shows in every cup. Their espresso is bold, smooth, and layered with flavor, while their pour-overs bring out subtle notes that highlight the unique qualities of each bean. I especially appreciated their rotating single-origin offerings, which showcase coffees with bright, complex flavor profiles. Whether you prefer something classic like a latte or want to experiment with more adventurous brews, Atomic consistently delivers quality.
The staff adds so much to the experience as well. They’re approachable, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They take the time to walk you through different beans, recommend roasts, and even share brewing tips if you’re buying coffee to enjoy at home. That combination of skill and friendliness makes every visit memorable.
Atomic also pairs its drinks with a thoughtful selection of pastries and small bites that perfectly complement the coffee. Altogether, it’s more than just a café—it’s a place that celebrates both innovation and community. For anyone who loves exceptional coffee, Atomic Coffee is absolutely...
