We have experienced 3 different rooms at Breakout - Royal Oak and what I like most about the family experience of an escape room is seeing how well we communicate with each other and work together. Last Christmas was our first game - Elf Myself. Our game master was Jasper. I was surprised at the start of the orientation at how much talent and effort Jasper put into setting the stage for the theme and getting us into our “role.” I enjoyed this room so much, I did not think another room could top it. This fall we had family visiting from out of town and decided to take them to Breakout - Royal Oak for the Chamber of Illusions. Once again our game master was Jasper. We had a more varied age group and our out of town guests had never experienced an escape room before. I’d say it was a highlight of their visit. Our recent game was Aliens Are Among Us - once again our game master was Jasper. The orientation was exceptional once again as Jasper’s enthusiasm for the job truly shows through. Once we stepped inside, we were immersed in the captivating theme. The puzzles were incredibly engaging, challenging us in creative and surprising ways. We loved how the clues were cleverly integrated into the environment, encouraging us to really explore every detail. What impressed us most was how well-designed the rooms were for families. The difficulty level was just right – challenging enough to keep us on our toes, but not so frustrating that anyone felt left out. Jasper was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing subtle hints when we needed them without giving anything away. We escaped with seconds to spare, and the feeling of accomplishment was exhilarating! These escape rooms are a must-try for anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience with...
Read moreI cannot express how thankful I am to the Royal Oak Break Out Escape Room Team. I called In advance and spoke to the manager and explained I wanted to plan a proposal for my girlfriend at the time. I explained I chose the escape room because she loves puzzles, riddles, and games. The manger gave me perfect suggestions and even offered a package that would include a wooden puzzle that we would keep that says " will you marry me." The day of the proposal , I went to Breakout early to drop off balloon and flowers where I met JASPER who was an absolute delight! They took the flowers and balloons for me to hold until after the proposal , allowed me to choose between two rooms I liked best for the proposal , and showed me into the surveillance room where I was given the option for them to record the proposal through their screen or to come into the room to record off of a phone. Additionally, They asked for my girlfriends favorite colors so they could create us a banner to celebrate and take pictures with. My girlfriends favorite colors are black and the colors during sunset. Before leaving I met JENNA who an absolute GEM and was later was our Escape Room guide. When we arrived at our appointment time everything was in place and everyone was in character lol. The proposal went perfectly and at the end Jenna came in with the flowers and balloons , plus the beautiful sign they made us. I mean they even got the colors down perfectly!! All the staff congratulated us and everyones involvement from start to finish was ABOVE AND BEYOND!! I am still almost a week later at a loss for words. They really made a special day that much more special. From the bottom of our hearts...
Read moreI was the only one of our group of 7 who had ever done an Escape Room before, and even so, it was from another location. As for this particular location, the razzle dazzle started the moment we entered the door, thanks to their creative, eclectic decor. Even their bathrooms felt out of this world! We had signed up for the Villain Takeover room, and our guide Charley was very friendly even to us "villains". She explained the locks patiently and thoroughly. Her "sidekick" Mr. Plumb was entertaining, funny, and scary at the same time. After he took our group picture (included in the attached photos), he gave us a quick intro, left us in our Escape Room, and off we went to solve puzzles as a team. The pace was perfect for us beginners, with my nephews (ages 14, 12, and 9) solving a brunt of the puzzles, along with the rest of us adults (ages 63, 60, 58, and 54) also contributing. Sure, Charley had to provide us 4 hints throughout our ordeal; but we finished the mission designed for 1 hour in only 40 minutes! As a prize from one of the solutions, our group photo was "discovered" in one of the compartments. Thank you Escape Rooms Royal Oak for the mind-boggling...
