Grandma’s Brooklyn Pizza — Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach

So this was an awkward experience. We went and there was a family waiting ahead of us to be seated. They were seated maybe 10 minutes after we had arrived but I have no idea how long they waited. The dinning room was empty other than another table that was already eating. I don't mind waiting to be seated but there is literally no waiting area. The minute you open the door there is the counter there to pick up to-go orders so if you are standing there you are in the way. It was pretty stupid to keep people just standing there when tables are empty. So we wait because I really wanted to try the pizza. While we are waiting I notice they have passive aggressive signs hanging up which seemed rediculous. One is about how you can't use the dinning room if you got a to-go order, ok...I can't imagine that being a frequent problem but whatever, they seem weird about seating people there in general at this point. The second one was really weird beause it said if you leave your credit card there or forget to sign the receipt they will charge you 18% gratuity. Lol who does that? Thats fraud and can be disputed so seems like a dumb move, also who the hell charges someone for leaving their credit card behind?

At this point after the red flags are up, a waitress comes over and says "party for two we will seat you in just a minute", theres still empty tables we can literally see. By now we have been standing awkwardly in the way about 20 minutes with people coming in and us moving around them so they can pick up their food. My husband said the worst part was the guy who was standing around doing nothing except making awkward eye contact with him repeatedly. So my husband says if they don't seat us in 5 minutes we are leaving. Five minutes come and go so we waited over 30 minutes total and the only interaction we had was with the girl up front telling her we are a party of two and then the waitress saying she will seat us soon.

So we left. We didn't even get to eat there because I imagine if it takes them 30 minutes to seat us when they are not full the food will take even longer and I really was not interested in finding out if there were more rules waiting once we made it inside. Possibly the food is good and I would have loved to try it but we will never waste our time with this place again to find out. Mario the baker is right down the road and their pizza is great and there is almost never a wait when we go so we are not missing out...

( Posted to Facebook too ) I've been eating at Grandma's Pizza delivery and takeout better part of 10+ years going all the way back when they were NYPD Pizza. I've always said good things and recommended to people always had good food good proportions but recently there's a nasty attitude which I don't like but the problem is the tripled up prices and cut down proportions on everything its has come to when I order a Stromboli instead of getting a beautiful delicious large Stromboli like I'm used to.. I get a Hot Pocket. No matter what or how little I'm ordering cost is a always over $30.00 I asked why have The prices tripled and why are the Stromboli's the size of a Hot Pocket and pizza's are suffering too size toppings thickness crust overall cost. Reply i got was this new made up BS excuse that everything is carefully weighed and measured and then after being cooked everything is weighed & measured again BS! that takes too long I'm from New York I know how a pizza restaurant is run I know how your pizza restaurant is run. I know how to make a pizza I know how to eat the pizza it's in my family lol. Skimping and cutting proportions saying it's all measured and carefully weighed before and after that's an excuse for your trying to make more money by skimping cheap skating big time. Then when confronted over the phone about the issue they got all mad at me and said to me well if you dont like it then dont eat here anymore. well I'm not anymore! And I always tipped good so don't try calling me the cheap one. Reason why I made this long explained re-review is cause you got very rude and Nasty with my stepfather then threatened him legal lawsuit if i dont take down/delete my updated re-review so if I didn't take my review down you get nasty and threaten people it just shows how in the wrong you are. I went by tonight, read the reviews and thought I'd take the kids (4 of them) while my wife was out with friends for dinner. I parked right up front, left my oldest daughter in the car with the others and go to the front counter so I can keep an eye on the car and asked them if I can place our order and then bring the kids in to sit down. I have found its much easier to have our order already placed rather then try to place the order with all four kids around me.

The lady upfront stops me and tells me that I must place the order in the dining room. I turn to the fellow wearing a chef costume and he reaffirms that's their "policy". I explain to them that they have an opportunity to provide great customer service and I'm told by (I assume the manager or owner)the same guy in the chef costume that they don't care. Needless to say they did not earn my money and we did not stay. Instead, I had to go back out to the car with two of my kids (middle two) asking why aren't we having pizza tonight and telling me how hungry they are.

I'm sure there are better options on which to spend your money. This establishment will never get mine and I will never recommend...
