Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach

To the Staff and Management,

I stopped at this location recently hoping for a good experience. When I came in, it seemed like the staff was busy and maybe a bit understaffed, but even so a quick “hello” or acknowledgement would have gone a long way to set a welcoming tone.

I also understand that running a restaurant is hectic, especially with a young team, but the restroom was dirty enough to be unsanitary. I was told cleaning is done in-house daily, but based on what I saw that may not be happening consistently. Management might want to bring in a professional cleaning company to help maintain restrooms and back-of-house areas. In South Florida there are plenty of reputable providers (Anago Cleaning, Enviro-Master, Coverall, etc.) that specialize in restaurants and would make a visible difference. From the dining area I could also see into the kitchen, which looked unsanitary and cluttered.

The sauces are always a hit here (the bar setup deserves 5 stars), but the chicken in my burrito was hard and not fresh. Consistency matters — customers should get fresh, well-marinated chicken every time.

Ripped off!!!! My order was $24 and change, I paid $20 in cash the rest on my card. She charged my card for the entire thing and kept my $20 even after I tipped her!! I didn't realize until I got home. I normally don't tip when I do a to go order but this time I did. That was the last time I tip!!! I corrected this through my bank and I didn't want to go through the hassle at Tijuana Flatts.

Then I decide to try them again. I make two separate pickup orders one for me one for a friend. She asks if both orders in one bag is ok, that was actually perfect. So she sets it on the counter, looks in the bag and gives it to me. I notice while it's on the counter that there is only one item in the bag, it's pretty noticeable. Only when I said something did she give me my second order, which she said both were in one bag.

Never again will I be back. My entire department will not be back as they have had other dissatisfactions which I won't dive into. Nice try on trying to get me again. I'm gone for...

I have been a regular customer ever since Tijuana opened their first restaurant to S. Florida in Deerfield Beach. Tijuana was the best at the time and over the years it has changed a little but lately the Royal Palm location has declined ever since this one has opened. Im not sure if the other locations are good but I have been considering trying the wellington location again but I ultimately went to different restaurant. The meat is always cold and barelyany at all, lately the soft tacos come out open faced which is kind of weird when they always came out folded. And they always mess up what my wife orders. The chips are never consistent , 80% of the time they are cold hard and unseasoned which really sucks because the chips are the best when they are warm and seasoned well.
