First time visitors here, the wait of 30 minutes was understandable being a late Saturday night. The service was horrible though, super slow. 10 minutes for a server to appear after seated, ordered drinks and queso, chips showed up by someone else thankfully since we finished are chips and salsa before our queso and drinks showed up after asking management for them. Food was ordered immediately when the drinks appeared, food took approximately 45 minutes to come out, 1 fajita entree to be shared and 2 kids meals. We shared fajitas but were missing the main part which was tortillas. 10 minutes after not having them we asked someone else to bring them for us. After this the waitress almost seemed to have disappeared, never were we asked how our food was or if we needed anything else. I wanted some more napkins but after looking at the next table I saw one of the guest make his second trip to find napkins which then I assume to be the norm.
Refills was another test of time, my kids were empty, lids removed and sat at the end of the table to make things easy or so I assumed. Waitress walked by twice looking directly at us and walking by not even saying a word. The third attempt we had to stop her and ask for them which she seemed happy to do. Water refills was another story, she refilled one as I moved mine next to the first to be refilled before she completed the first, instead of filling it as well she went on to the next table to fill all of their glasses.
Dinner was good, the queso is beyond my favorite now. When it was leaving time we asked for 2 Togo boxes and the check. 10 minutes later we have the check and no boxes as she forgot we had even...
Read more6/24/2017 upd: Remodeled and apparent new mgr. Went there with a customet and, while the Spanish Rice and charro beans are not back to as good as they were in the beginning, the service and the rest of the food is. BIG improvements! I again recommend this place.
2/9/2017 update: The Royse City Arboledas has expanded but has taken a nose dive and no longer has the crowds. This WAS our go-to place in Royse City but since the mgr change awhile back the servce and food are unpredictable at best. Because of the history, we've tried going back several times but, if anything, contines on the slide. Our 2nd to last visit, after a 30 min wait for our lunch, the mgr came out to apologize for the new chef and offered our ice free! We left. The last visit we receive Spanish rice glue and flavorless charo beans.
This place has ONE problem: TOO small - more like a hallway. The food is superb - the better of the two Arbeledas (which is also VERY good) and the best in Royse City. We would eat here more often except it is almost always a long wait...
Read moreAfter 24 years of living in the Dallas metro area, my wife and I had established a routine date night each Friday at El Fenix in the Casa Linda Plaza. After moving to Royse 2 years ago, we missed not having a standing dinner date. After driving to the El Fenix in Greenville, we decided that we should try something closer. Friends of ours living in Royse recommended Arboledas and we are glad they did. We have enjoyed every meal we’ve had and have never had a bad experience over the past 2 years. The mild hot sauce they serve is amazing. We joke that you could drink it like soup.
In addition to the food, the other half of the experience is the service. While the service at Arboledas is good, the service we receive from Sydney is exceptional. She is friendly, courteous, and professional. Visits to the table are always just at the right time. While we’ll miss Rocky at El Fenix in the Casa Linda Plaza, we look forward to asking for Sydney by name as we continue to enjoy our date nights...
