So I took my 5 kids to dinner tonight since it was suppose to be $1 tacos. In all actuality the tacos are $1.03 before tax. When we arrived we waited about 10 minutes before we placed our drink order. There was a table behind us that had a party of 8. They received their chips & salsa before us. There was another party of 4 in a booth that arrived well after us and received their what looked to be a taco platter before us. We ordered water for our drinks. My oldest son told me he needed another water since his had something red floating in it. So I gave him my water. Then my middle daughter shortly after said something red was on her ice. I told her I would get her another drink. When the waitress finally came to check on us I explained the situation about the water and she said that it was probably tajin and that she would get them another drink. She did bring back 2 waters but my youngest finished his water and he needed another refill. So I didn’t want him waiting so I gave him my water. I was hoping she would have realized that I needed a water but she never did. We kept putting the empty cups at the end of the table. Another waitress kept looking at our table as if to say why don’t they have their food? Not sure if my food ticket got lost in the kitchen or the waitress forgot to put it in. We order 24 tacos but only 20 tacos arrived almost an hour later. When we finally received our food my youngest son (who is 6) did not receive his food. So my oldest daughter gave her food to him since they ordered the same exact thing. I informed the waitress that my son was the 4th person to place an order. The waitress said she had it written down and that it was the kitchens fault. The reality is she should have made sure the entire order was there before it left the kitchen. She did say she was sorry. I even asked before we paid should it have taken an hour for us to receive our food and the cashier said maybe my ticket got pushed back but they also had a bunch of orders. She never asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. She just kept giving...
Read moreWalking in, the atmosphere was nice! Decor and lighting (although very bright when coming in for dinner) was nice and modern and set my expectations higher than maybe they should’ve been.
The staff was friendly although our server was obviously new to serving and clearly inexperienced. It would be beneficial for management to do some training in this area to level up the dining experience.
The food… I’ll say my expectations were probably higher than they should’ve been. I’ve been to some highly rated birriarias so my bar was high. I got the quesabirria (birria quesadilla), my husband got a shrimp burrito, my son got asada fries and my daughter got asada nachos.
The chips and salsa they brought to the table ahead of our main meal was nice. The chips were good. The house salsa was delicious! They also brought a squeeze bottle of spicier salsas - likely a tomatillo/serrano/Jalapeno based green salsa and a habanero salsa… definitely a good kick for both! However there was a slight fizz like it was not properly fermented which was kinda off putting.
The quesabirria was good, I’d give it a solid B. Cheese to meat ratio was good and there was a nice crispy edge. The consumè/dip/broth seemed kinda thin and watered down. It wasn’t very flavorful in comparison to the meat in the quesadilla. I would’ve rather had a smaller portion or rich flavorful broth.
The burrito was OK, another solid B. Shrimp wasn’t overcooked. Was a no-frills kinda meal.
The asada nachos and fries were disappointing… not enough cheese on either. The nachos came soggy unfortunately.
Lastly I’ll mention that the menu was really funky and arranged/worded in a disorganized way… like one taco is $3 but 3 tacos is $12? Overall it took some focus to look thru it.
I’ll give this place some time to mature before returning to try it again. This restaurant has so much potential to go from good to great with a few...
Read moreNewly opened location and loved the atmosphere and cleanliness. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our Server, Jimena, was a very sweet, friendly, and informative young lady. The food came out in a timely manner. They do not have fountain drinks, they have bottled soda. They bring chips and salsa, the chips were decent but a little on the harder crunch side for my liking. The salsa was a bit runny and had a little kick which was fine on a spice level. The burrito typically has beans, rice, your choice of meat, and cheese but I opted out of beans and chose carnitas. The burrito overall was a bit dry and the meat was dry and underseasoned but loved that they seared the outside of the burrito. The quesabirria had more flavor but we added a little more salt. It was juicy and tender but quite greasy. We ended it with churros with no filling and they were warm, with a good soft crunch and yummy cinnamon and sugar coating, these were delish. Overall, they were decent and we would come back and try their tacos and breakfast which is served...
