Would be great for meat eaters: Our waitress and hostess were very nice and attentive. We do not eat meat. I believe our food experience would have been better if we were meat eaters. I had empanadas vegetarianas, consisting of whole beans (frijoles enteros), spinach (in long pieces), & cheese in fried corn empanadas. That combo of fillings wasn’t good because it was runny, looked unappetizing, didn’t taste that great, and the long spinach pieces had a weird texture when cooked. (I’d recommend green peas and potatoes as a filling, as they might be more traditional and peas have protein.) Also, the hostess who delivered our food could have warned me that the empanada filling would burn my mouth. The first one I ate burned my mouth, so I had to open the other ones and let them cool before eating them. The empanada crust was delicious. My husband ordered vegetarian arepas, consisting of a falafel patty on a round corn patty (something like a tortilla), spinach, a pale orange sauce, and perhaps other ingredients. While his dish was good, the falafel didn’t seem authentic for traditional Latin American cuisine. Maybe a fried egg with an almost hard yolk or cheese would work instead for the vegetarian option, as either one protein. We ordered beans as a side dish; it came refried. I really wanted whole beans and the next time I will specify. (The waitress could have asked.) I know the restaurant has frijoles enteros bc my empanadas had them inside. I didn’t like the sweet light orange sauce for my empanadas, but I liked the sour and salty sauce. We didn’t care for the Fox News on one of the TVs, but this might have been an anomaly. I love the concept of the restaurant being a combo of Columbian, Mexican, and...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate my birthday last night and Pati and Jesús pulled out all of the stops for my small gathering.
The margaritas are made from scratch, no artificial sweeteners everything is muddled in these beautiful clay cups that part a different flavor to the tequila. They line the cups with Tajín.. I could go on. Delicious.
We had the patacones, the beef empanadas, tacos and Chicharrones which are based on the ones made in Jalisco. The food is so well made from fresh ingredients and you can tell. The prices are really good deal for everything that you’re getting. High value.
The guacamole and all of the salsas are could easily be sold on the side. They that good.
The service is in the name of the place—Welcoming. Warm, friendly and you feel like you’re at home.
There is a diner side and there is a 21+ bar side. They hosted us in the bar and we enjoyed watching videos of Colombia on the big screen while they played a variety of Latin music. I haven’t had a little mini salsa lesson from Jesús.
They Gifted us the delicious rice pudding. Which my only regret is the fact that I left it there and that I was too full to actually eat more of it. The cookies on the top with the flavor of the pudding, so yum.
There are rumors that they want to have social salsa and Bachata dance nights. We support that!

I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Here is my review in the food:
I had Chicharrón en Chile Verde. I’m Mexican and I’m used to having the Chicharron pork grinds that tend to get kind of machine in the salsa. This dish was made with the meat pork that gave it a really good texture of the crunchiness and the meaty, which balanced out the entire dish so wonderfully, and it was delicious. I had a freshly made watermelon drink that was not only healthy but so refreshing and good. I also had the churros for dessert and they were wonderful.
My husband and son had the cheese melts Salchipapa dish La Traviesa and La Classy. My son is usually a bit of a picky eater, and he finished his entire dish. Enough said with that. My husband absolutely loved La Traviesa and he said that it was a nice ratio of meat and potatoes, and he couldn’t get enough of the sauce. His favorite part was the plantains cooked into the dish that gave it a different sweet flavor and is his new favorite dish. He said he would want to come here just for that plate. They shared the arroz con Leche, and most places serve arroz con Leche hot but here they serve it cold, which is really popular for many Latinos, and it was a nice touch and flashback to our upbringing And it was delicious.
I am so happy we discovered this gem. I’m officially now a...
