People there are SUPER friendly and down to earth. Seemed thankful for the business. The food ranged from ok to good. Me being a foodie makes it hard for me. I like to leave honest reviews but when a business is so kind, it’s hard to say anything bad. First off, it was their last day of the season, so hopefully that played a part in the lack of “wow factor.” The broiled scallops I ordered were very good and by far the best thing I tried. The clam chowder was awesome! So definitely try that! The baby carrots were hard as a rock, almost like they’d not been boiled much at all. They need much more cook time and seasoning. The red boiled potatoes were ok. Needed a lot of salt added but other than that they’re good. Would be great with some old bay and real butter. ☺️ My husbands lobster roll was the worst we’ve had along the coast. So many pieces of the white cartilage or whatever is inside of lobster that is normally filtered out. He kept pulling pieces out of his mouth. I think normally the person cleaning them normally does that a little more precisely. It was also supposed to be hot. It wasn’t. Luke warm at best. Of course we’ve had lobster rolls up and down the coast so it was a little bit of let down as this was our last stop before heading home. The fries were very bad. Almost raw tasting or freezer burnt in the middle. Our nice server brought us a fresh batch, while hotter, they still had that off flavor. Not sure if that’s the norm or maybe they were old due to end of season. If you want a friendly place to stop, definitely try them out. Get the scallops and clam chowder. They’re great. If you want a lobster roll maybe wait to try one on further up the coast. FYI: our hands down favorite so far is Bar Harbour Lobster pound. Their featured one with some kind of aoli. I forget the name. Hard to beat that one. Be aware that all lobster rolls are different and don’t judge them all by one. Thankful for the response from the owner. I’m glad to know the things we didn’t enjoy aren’t their norm. I’m sure in peak season it would have been a better experience. I hope yall have a great winter break and a wonderful season next year!

We tried the Lobster Claw at the end of the season, so this landmark roadside restaurant (away from the busier state routes & beachside) was mostly empty. Despite this (or because of this), the food was fresh, hot & delicious served quite quickly. When we entered the dining area initially, a server informed us the orders are taken at the window like an old-school Lobster shack (which indeed this is). The friendly order-taker at the window was quick & efficient - asking whether we'd like the lobster roll hot with butter or cold with mayo. We noted they had some price reductions of some items (end of the season bonus!). The seating area is a no-frills affair - plastic picnic tables, a couple booths & 4-top tables indoors & quite a few 4-tops on the patio outside with full bars both indoors & on the patio (though the outdoors area was pretty much vacated this time of year (post Columbus day). The food was reasonable. the lobster roll was done mostly right - excepting the unnecessary leaf of lettuce, that is. Bun was grilled with butter & the tender claw & tail meat was freshly picked. The lobster roll plate comes with waffle fries and a copious amount of some of the creamiest cole slaw ever. Their clam chowder is decent - thick & creamy with chunks of potatoes and a good amount of chopped tender clam meat. I am sure in-season this place is jamming as it is situated between the 2 main routes & they've been around for a long time. Pricing is appropriate - not inexpensive, but also not outrageously overpriced either.

Wonderful landmark family owned restaurant with delicious food. Only open seasonal, May through early September, and with a line to order during normal busy times. Go inside to view a large menu, with pictures, on the wall under a covered patio. Order your food at the service window, pay, then find a seat inside or outside, or take out is available. A waitserver will approach your table for your drink order. This server will take your food receipt, deliver your drinks and the food when it's ready. Full bar is available. Tasty refreshing margaritas were made for us. We had the large lobster, fried clams and shrimp entree. It was served with fries and coleslaw. Everything was cooked fresh when we ordered. The lobster was split in half. Our food was very delicious. Our service was quick and server was friendly and knowledgeable. Free parking is available in two lots. We enjoyed our visit and will come back next time we visit this area.

So came to OOB for our annual family vaca. Wanted some seafood and seeing as Sea Salt seems to be going down hill (as the reviews state) and tonight there was "about and hour" wait. We decided to try somewhere else that serves seafood. We ended up hear after ready negative reviews about all the other places. We didn't have high hopes either. My wife and I got the number 11 which I belive was a fisherman's platter. Now the sign shows two plates with a lobster on each. So we figured even it's a small lobster we get our own. Nope. They take one small lobster.and cut it in half. The other issue was my wife asked if the clam strips where whole belly or just steips as we just wanted strips. The lady behind the window said they had both and we can choose. We did. We chose steips but ended up with whole belly. The amount of money ey we paid compared to the amount of food we got was a smack in the face honestly. $136 for less then a palm size of lobster, soggy fries and the wrong clams. Some got the meat lasagna and said it was great. Daughter got the bacon Mac and cheese. Said it was good. But we all left hungry. Just not enough food. Which I find strange because other reviews said the portions are huge. Idk. The food wasn't bad tasting or anything. The service was fine. Just so small and the price was so high. Places to go in OOB/Taco cross this one off and find a...
