I ordered online from Wendys in Saco, Maine. Went to pick up order and door was locked. Called Wendys and they said that you had to get into drive thru to pick it up because they were short handed, which doesnt make sense. The line at the drive thru was very long and not moving much. So I tried to find out how to do that from the guy but he said he didnt know ended up hanging up on me. So I called back a little bit later and explained to him , nicely, why we didnt come get our order. He was nice about it and he told me that our order did go thru and to try to cancel it thru the app. I told him it showed no order on the history but it did have my debit card number info. He said that was weird and he was sorry he couldnt help me. I told him its ok, its not his fault, the fault is ours I just wanted to let them know why we didnt get our food and I was trying to cancel it. He was nice the whole time and as helpful as he could be. My complaint isnt with the worker, its the fact that we werent notified to go thru the drive thru to get our food. Im not sure what coming inside has to do with a short staff. We had been in the drive thru but it wasnt moving fast enough and was long. We got out of line and ordered online thinking it would be faster. It was, but the way we had to get it was the reason we left the drive thru line. Also, there is no where to go to try to cancel it if there is no order history on my wendys account. So, wendys, you owe me some money! Your app sucks! And my bank shows that you...

Read morePlease stop giving Wendy's money. As a fast food place, it's my favorite. After eating there this week, I won't be anymore. It was around 2pm on a weekday, and the drive-through was a traffic jam. They were moving about one car in fifteen minutes. If I hadn't already paid for my online order, I would have gone somewhere else.
I went inside to pick-up my food, and the place was a disaster. The employees were running around like headless chickens, and ordering inside the restaurant had been reduced to "kiosk only." I was there over an hour.
As someone who has ever had a job before, this means the following: Wendy's doesn't pay enough to keep good employees, so those who remain are overworked AND underpaid.
Wendy's doesn't support their location managers. When I've worked in food before, if there was a strangely-timed, mad rush at one location, the manager would be on the phone with other places, asking them to send help, which they usually would.
As long as you keep giving Wendy's money for the service they're providing, they'll keep doing things this way.
Vote with your wallet. I've only ever seen this kind of thing at nationwide/global chain fast food eateries. I don't see it at Portland Pie; I don't see it at Elevation Burger; I don't see it at...
