BAD Bakers Expo — Restaurant in Sacramento

I find it remarkable that folks are leaving positive reviews for this place. Perhaps they haven’t eaten the donuts? The name is unfortunately pretty accurate: these are bad donuts.

We stopped in at about 7am on a Tuesday. The donuts seemed very much like they were from the previous day. Texture was stale and tough for an old fashioned donut. We ordered vanilla, chocolate, and maple glazed. The other donuts covered in cereal really aren’t my style, so this is really just about their basics (which a donut shop should nail). They’re bad.

Side note: this place doesn’t serve coffee. That’s their choice, but I’ve literally never been in a donut shop that doesn’t at least have brewed coffee. I asked and the guy cheerfully referred me to the cooler with refrigerated Starbucks bottles. My friends: there is a Starbucks 50’ away. This was my very first visit. It shares properties with the Costco gas station. I never really paid any attention to the small shops. I just happened to look over and saw the store front BAD BAKERS. I decided to check them out online and saw some very tasty looking Donuts. I was hoping Sacramento would have some fancy looking donuts. I walked in to a very quiet atmosphere. If you’re looking for good señorita bread, this is the place!! Their bread is SOOO delicious and soft and the people here are so kind, they’ll sometimes hook me up with some extra and I won’t even know till I get my box. They also had pretty good mochi donuts that you can buy different flavored crème syringes to put inside the donut. I got the cookies and cream and it was so fun squeezing it into the donuts.
