We are writing this review from IHOP, extremely disappointed with our visit to this store this morning. People, a good restaurant experience depends on more than just the quality of the food - the environment is equally if not more than important to the overall dining experience. We expected a certain magical employee to be there - she runs the breakfast and lunch crew, making sure the environmental experience is pleasing with a well run, efficient crew, showing pleasant attitudes and a desire to produce and serve outstanding product. It is always such a joy to dine during her shift, to enjoy not only the “vibe” in the restaurant but also the clean bathrooms and clean exterior. We follow her from store to store and eat twice weekly in her stores, now bringing 2 additional customers too. We were very, very upset to walk into the store at 10am Sept 3, 2022 (this morning) and see and feel something different. There was confusion and less efficiency. Feelings of stress from the staff were palpable. We sat at the counter and ordered drinks then asked the very nice waitress “is Naz off today?” It was apparent from her answer and how she delivered it that there was some drama behind the scenes…who doesn’t know when the supervisors and managers are taking a day off? “I’m not sure…” she said. A quick call to a Dennys employee confirmed for us that Naz doesn’t work for Dennys anymore, effective yesterday. People, when a customer asks you a direct question, give a direct answer…don’t lie! We knew without a doubt the reason why the vibe in the restaurant was unpleasant, why things weren’t running smoothly, and why staff seemed stressed - a true leader who runs the shop with such joy and professionalism she has generated a large contingent of regulars had left. We let the waitress know that we would not be ordering…no Naz, no order. We asked to speak to the manager and was told “that’s her right there.” The manager (who appears new to the location) turned to look at us, and then I said that I just found out that Naz quit yesterday and therefore we would not be ordering food and would only be paying for our drinks. She smirked and she giggled, then flippantly said “ok.” I couldn’t believe it…had she no training as a manager? If she was working for me, she would know customer retention is a big part of her job. She didn’t express concern. She didn’t ask us to give her and the staff a chance to make us happy, to ask us to remain with them while the organization tries to get Naz to agree to stay. We would have considered that. But nope…it was smirking, giggling, and a flippant “ok.” Naz loves Dennys…she and her mom have been with them for decades…so for her to quit means there is a serious issue. We will take our 500-600 a month order to IHOP until Dennys steps up to ensure the customers at this location have a clean, peaceful, efficient, and pleasant dining experience with personnel who care about the customer experience. You guys need to get Naz back, or someone of her professionalism and dedication. Naz had a lot of regulars…we will follow her wherever she goes because we know the dining experience there will meet...
Read moreWrote a review on yelp so I will just copy and paste my review on here (please read): Dinner with my family here at this Denny's turned out to be about 20 minutes before we packed our things and left. First and foremost, before writing this review, I scrolled through the other reviews to notice the exact same thing happened to my family. POOR customer service. The first waiter was a young man who was nice and asked us what drinks we wanted and delivered them to our table promptly and told us our waitress, Heather would be right with us. After my family decided what we wanted on the menu, we were waiting about 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. Heather comes bussing other tables and is raising her voice to another coworker saying she wanted her break and also says, "I'm not upset, I'm frustrated" and leaves to go on her break, without even acknowledging us there. An older lady with short gray hair was flustered the entire time, and there were maybe 5 families in the WHOLE restaurant which should have been easy to accommodate all of them. My family thought that was very rude for Heather to be saying that in front of customers and nobody noticed us needing to get our order placed. An elderly customer had complained about her food being cold and the lady with the short gray hair just looked irritated that she had to handle people's complaints. Upon leaving the restaurant, we told the workers that we were leaving because nobody came to take our order and they all were very nonchalant about it, like it was not a big deal. Well hey, if a family of 5 hungry people doesn't matter to your business, then it doesn't matter to us either. As we are leaving we noticed a couple walking in and we told them that they wasted our time and they will waste yours too so don't even bother going in. And the couple got back in their car and drove off. So not only did they lose business for one family but two. All i have to say is, I have not seen a business without a sense of urgency or respect for customers, but today, it was vividly shown. I definitely won't be returning and I encourage everyone reading this to avoid this place as well. Terrible customer service. If I could rate this no...
Read moreI am writing to share a concerning experience I had at your Denny's College Town location in Sacramento on June 6, 2025, around 4:00 AM. My visit was a direct result of being rerouted from another Denny's, where a cook was on break and I was unable to place my order. At the initial location, staff were ready to apply a 20% discount from a June app special I had received via email. Given this, I expected a similar level of service at the College Town store. However, when I attempted to use the discount, the waitress was notably dismissive and offered very little assistance, simply informing me that the offer was not available at her location. The lack of helpfulness and the abrupt denial of a discount I was led to believe was valid at your establishments created a very negative impression. It's frustrating to be inconvenienced by being sent to a new location, only to encounter unaccommodating customer service.
Don't get me wrong any other time I come to this restaurant I get great customer service the food is awesome but it's just tonight I mean excuse me this morning she was just not very helpful and she was rude and she was just trying to hurry up and get me up out of there like she has somewhere to go I can understand that she was getting off work that would be different but it's...
