Read moreBeen here only once but the impression I got is sufficient enough to make a lasting good impression. The front of this location can easily be overlooked as it blends in well with the surrounding neighborhood. If you should happen by when patrons are out front with beers in hand then you know you've arrived, otherwise a small amount of effort might be needed to find it. Despite outside appearances the inside is cavernous with the "backyard" downright spacious. Two sets of Cornhole are set up to help you stretch your muscles and build up a thirst should you want to. It's my understanding that the back patio is also dog friendly. Food is great. Personal sized pizzas are delicious and are the type that you would want to eat the crust. Calzones and salads are also good. And then there is the beer. Being Sacramento you don't get to slack on the beer. While there is no brewing on the premises (that I'm aware of), the selection of beer on hand is extensive enough to make you indecisive while ordering. All that said it needs to be pointed out that the service was very good. Food was prepared rather quickly and the waitress will pick up your empty glasses and plates. This place is definitely worth a look for a good meal or just chillin with...
Read moreI thought this was just an average beer place, but I was dead wrong. Its beer menu is on the Untappd app. If you’re a big beer fan, you’d probably know all about it.
It had 93 beers to choose from. It was a good problem to have. I wanted draft beers and not in cans. There were still 23 draft beers. I ordered a “blueberry muffin fruit in the can”, a smoothie sour at 6% abv, for my friend. It tasted just like juice. I guess that’s why it got a very high rating on Untappd. I got myself an IPA called Whale Watching and it was pretty good.
Since this place was big on beers, I thought maybe the food wouldn’t be that good. I was pleasantly surprised. From the burrata plate (burrata, bread, pesto and cherry tomatoes) to the apple walnut salad and to the truffle shuffle pizza, everything was delicious. Was I starving? Not really, but I ate like I was.
One bonus about this place is that it’s walking distance to Gunthers for some ice cream afterwards, which we did. Definitely want to go back to try more drafts...
