Rolli Rolli Rolli with Icicles Ice Cream: Fun Adventure in Sacramento
I went to visit my little brother for the weekend in Sacramento. He suggested Icicles for dessert. At first, I was hesitant because I have a severe allergy to nuts and to dairy, making ice cream a bit of a risky adventure for me. To our pleasant surprise, Icicles has dairy free (coconut based) and nut free options. When purchasing, inform the cashier of your allergy particulars. They have whoever is making your ice cream switch gloves and use a separate slab that is allergy zoned and sanitized (separated from the allergens). They even have toppings for those with allergies. You can watch them make their ice cream roll creations (like sushi for ice cream) which is pretty cool. I give a 4 out of a 5 just because I wish they had better zoned toppings for those with food allergies as it looked like many of the toppings are stored in the same space. An allergy zoned cupboard separated from the other toppings, safe for nut allergies and no chance of cross processing would be absolutely lovely. I would give a 10 stars out of 5 for that! When I returned home to the Bay Area, I was informed that there is another location in downtown Willow Glen (Lincoln Ave). I can’t wait to bring my aunt and friends to this location closer to me. A fun night out with the family, friends with allergies, even a date...
Read moreso, clean place if not a lil bland. the ice cream itself which honestly am not sure if i ca call it that is good. a lil thin not creamy in flavor but good. i see that the wole thing bout the ice cream is the preparation which am sorry to say but coldstone has that already on lock and its been doing that for years. now heres the big big problem with this place and that is PRICE. $8.50 for a cup roughly the size of the medium coldstone serving is rediculous! just crazy! am not a cheap man but i know when am getting ripped off, i originally went in there thinking of two but oncd i saw the price i said ill just buy one to try it.out. in comparison a coldstone icd bigger in size is 6 bucks. and to make matters worst u have leatherbys not far from them that will give u a rich banana split.for 13 bucks cheaper that two portions of this ice cream in a nicer setting with better quality and creminess for cheaper! if this cost 5 bucks max i would go back but for 8.50 i will.go to either cold stone...
Read moreLove this place! My family found a new go to spot, even though we live in Elk Grove this will be a regular treat stop for us! So worth the drive! I didn't get the gentleman's name that was working alone that night but he was awesome! It was our first time trying rolled ice cream and let me tell you, he did not disappoint! He even did a little flip with the ice cream that my daughter enjoyed. He also gave us extra little tokens to play the claw machines they have. Unfortunately we didn't win anything but it was fun. We went on a Monday night, kinda late about 9 or so, and there wasn't really anyone there. I don't know how this place doesn't have a line around the block! It's that good! I want to try everything on their menu cuz it all sounds yummy but next time I'm goin for the self serve boba! They have a flavor called Wintermelon, never heard of this fruit but it looks like an apple on the outside and a flipping melon on the inside!! Is this a real fruit, someone...
