I have never experienced such a profound lack of respect from a so-called hospitality manager in my 40 years of life. When I checked into the hotel, I was met with disdain due to their strict no-pets policy. I informed the front desk that my dog was a registered ADA service animal, and after that, they proceeded with my check-in. In hindsight, I should have trusted my instincts and gone to another hotel across the street. However, as a loyal Diamond member of Best Western for many years, I chose to stay, believing they would value my business. I was charged $120 for one night, plus a $100 deposit, which was particularly distressing since that was my last bit of money until payday in a week and a half. All I sought was some peace of mind.
I left my service dog in the room to avoid exposing him to the pouring rain, which could lead to ear infections. Not only is he my ADA animal, but he also has special needs. I took an Uber to pick up some personal belongings so I could shower and relax for the evening. Upon returning 30 minutes later, I heard my dog whimpering as I entered through the back door. My key wouldn’t work, so I went to the front desk, where I encountered a very agitated man named Andrew and a woman. He aggressively informed me that I was being kicked out and that they would keep all my money because I had supposedly violated a federal law by leaving my dog unattended for half an hour. He waved a paper in my face, claiming it was a federal law, and accused me of breaching noise regulations on a Friday night at 10 PM for the same duration.
His disrespectful demeanor made it clear that my loyalty, financial situation, and overall circumstances meant nothing to him. It felt as though I was being treated like an inferior being. I am determined to pursue a refund for my money. From the moment I checked in, it seemed they were looking for reasons to dismiss me because I was able to legally bypass their no-pet policy. People work hard for their money, and with rising costs, I cannot afford to be treated this way or suffer such a financial blow over something so trivial. That night, my dog and I had nowhere to go, and they left us without anything, forcing us onto the streets. I didn’t even have the chance to use the toilet paper roll or take a shower. To make matters worse there is in fact no FEDERAL LAW THAT OUTRIGHT PROHIBITS A SERVICE ANIMAL FROM BEING UNATTENDED. Circumstances should be considered...
Read moreLooking for a reasonable place to stay, well you found it. I made my reservations over the phone with Julie. She was very helpful and applied my AAA discount to my reservation. She gave me the exact total with taxes included, so there was no misunderstanding over the charges being made. Check in was at 2pm and Check out is at 11am. I checked in April 30, 2022 at 5 pm. The young man who was at the front desk was very friendly. Informed me that there is someone at the desk 24 hours a day. This was comforting to me since I was traveling alone. I booked a king size bedroom and will provide pictures of my accommodations. Didn't have any major issue during my stay. The floor was relatively quiet, I know that isn't always the case. There were ice machines on every floor and lobby had vending machines for beverages and snacks. The bed was comfortable. Didn't see any signs of rodents or roaches. My view from the third floor was of the parking lot, which was fine since I can keep an eye on my car. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because my peep hole was broke on the inside, which made it easy for people too look in. I fixed the problem by stuffing the peep hole with toilet tissue. And, my phone was broken too. I couldn't receive phone calls from my husband, but I was able to call out. The only reason this was a problem is because my cell phone was over heating after traveling 4+ hours. I had to keep it off and my husband didn't have a way to get...
Read moreHorrible experience, the staff needs to be retrained with some emphasis on sensitivity training. The man in charge I believe had a camera in our room and had my girlfriend crying over her Menstrual cycle and the sheets that they kept my entire deposit for ruining the sheets. He was crass and confrontational from the time I walked up to the front desk to check out . Typically the front desk would radio a maid to check the room but he didn’t do that he got up locked everything up and proceeded to march right tithe room and didn’t look anywhere else but exactly where the soiled sheets. Shoved the sheets in our faces and proceed to yell at us. I’ve debated over posting this experience and finally decided I must. What is the value of a threadbare used sheet Best Western ? Because my entire deposit was kept and I gave it to them in cash. And is it Best Westerns policy to charge for acts of nature? And if so shouldn’t there be a sliding scale determined by the condition of the sheets themselves? And how does the humiliation my girlfriend still deals with as she now brings something to lay on the bed before she can even sit on the bed or any other furniture for that matter. An apology is the least that could be given but I’d like to see that...
