Kobe | Japanese Grill & Sushi — Restaurant in Sacramento

My wife and I visited Kobe on the account of the stellar reviews. We were excited because we live in the neighborhood. I honestly don’t understand where all the glowing reviews are coming from? I have to say that this is one of the worst (if not the worst) sushi restaurant I’ve been to; we’ve been to many wonderful sushi restaurants in Sacramento. This place sets a new low. The rolls were worse than supermarket sushi! The sushi was flavorless and the rolls were mostly rice. The rolls tasted and looked liked they were assembled by an amateur who took one session at sushi making class. The miso soup tasted like days old; you can tell by the color and consistency of the tofu. We live in Natomas and it pains me to write this as we love to support local businesses and I wanted them to be good. However, I want to be clear that this place does NOT deserve the current rating it received from the other reviewers. I went there Thursday and I placed an order and it was $65.25 to my purchase was updated to $77.25 in which I left a cash tip and this waiter took it upon himself to add a tip. I called the restaurant today and I asked to speak to the manager and the lady asked me why and I explained what happened and she tells me that the waiter accidentally applied someone else tip to my debit card. Which I didn’t believe I believe it was done on purpose. The lady offered me to come in with my Id and they can refund the $12 in cash these no way to reverse it back to my card. Also while dining there another customer asked the waiter how has he been and the waiter said so-so that he recently met a nice girl and he’s been sober for 3 weeks now but seeing people at the restaurant drinking alcohol beverages is...

Went there around 7pm and it seemed like a quiet place with like 5-6 tables occupied. Waiter seemed out of it right when we stepped in. Didn’t get sat down until like 5-10 minutes in when tables were clearly open. Once we were took like 15 minutes to ask for what we like to drink. Then we ordered afterwards, boy, it took the food nearly an hour to get there. We only ordered 3 rolls and 2 appetizers and it took them one hour to make. The place wasn’t crazy busy so I didn’t understand why it took so long. The Waiter literally said he needed to take a cigar break and left the doors to do so.
