We moved to Sacramento about a year ago. Tried many mexican food places to find the one that would be our spot. After trying so many different places, we came across La Sabrosita. Up until now, La Sabrosita had become our go-to place for Mexican food, but today, they lost me. As I was waiting for my order, I decided to serve myself some of their salsas to go. As I was filling up the little containers, I could sense a foul odor coming from somewhere. My first thought was maybe it's coming from the kitchen, then I thought maybe the salsas. I brushed it off, giving them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps that foul odor was coming from somewhere else. But when I got home and started to serve my family and opened the salsa containers and the onion/cilantro container, that foul odor I felt at their restaurant overtook my senses. They were definitely spoiled. Either they used spoiled ingredients, or it was kept too long to the point that it went bad. The smell was so bad that it made me want to gag. Their food has always been really good, a bit pricey but up until now, it was worth paying their prices because we enjoyed our food very much. With how much they charge for their food, the least they can do to make sure that they keep their customers happy is to make sure that they never compromise the integrity of their food quality by using spoiled ingredients. As a client, I want to rest assured that the food I am purchasing is good and that it won't make me sick. When a restaurant cuts corners by using ingredients that have gone bad, it loses customers. If they have no problem using spoiled ingredients, who's to say that they won't cook spoiled meat as well. I, for one, won't feel comfortable eating their food anymore. The quality of freshness is important, and it should be at the top of the priority list for any restaurant. To make matters worse, you can't even call to complain since there's no phone number listed for them on google. So if your order is wrong, good luck communicating with them. Your only option would be to drive there in person. That alone shows how much they really care about their customer service. I cook a lot, when something is spoiled like vegetables or meat, you can smell it. So they must have been aware that they were using spolied ingredients. There's no way you can not notice. In conclusion, their food does taste good, but the quality and freshness are not guaranteed. The possibility of consuming something spoiled is high. Hopefully, they will start paying more attention and improve the quality of their food, but for now, I'll be...
Read moreI was excited to support La Saborita since they just reopened in my neighborhood, but my experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, the lady working was sitting outside, so I waited inside at the register. It took her about 3 minutes to come in, and when she did, there was no greeting—just a flat “What can I get you?” No “Good morning,” no “Welcome,” nothing.
I placed my order and after paying, I politely asked what time they open because I wanted to come back for menudo. She completely ignored me and walked away to get on her phone. Even a family sitting nearby noticed and confirmed that she ignored me. At that point, I was frustrated, but I decided to wait for my food. When she handed me the food, I said, “Thank you,” and again—no response. No “You’re welcome,” no “Have a nice day.” Nothing.
I honestly don’t know if this was because of my race or if she just has terrible customer service skills, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Customer service matters to me, and I wanted to give this place a chance, but she ruined it. The carne asada burrito I ordered was bland, which only added to the disappointment.
If the service had been good, I would have come back to try other items and support the business. Unfortunately, they won’t be getting any more of my business. If someone asks me about this place, I’ll be honest and tell them not to go. They can thank whoever was working the register...
Read moreI just moved in the area, and walked bye this place. I asked if they had a Togo paper menu it's right bye the ice cream place I was going to take my family to this weekend. It's in walking distance and open till 9 it looks like? Anyway I don't look great tonight I have ragged short and a top I've been walking places all day, "I'm trying to walk more so I can save gas and have fun more with family." They were so rude about how I looked, and how the lady acted, no I'm not looking on Instagram like she said look up instead of website, because they can take pictures of their best ... so I looked at the reviews, lol I was married unfortunately to a guy from Mexico (I say unfortunately because he was nicer to others more than me.) Anyways I cooked better than the pictures on the reviews in a week of trying, the reason I'm never going to try this place is because of the way I was treated at my worst looking, because I've been wanting to get into walking again. They judge before they know how much you have and assume you can't afford it and yes their prices are high for the looks of their food. Well I ordered and they messed it up so bad my husband and I couldn't eat I ordered the beef sandwich they put bacon I'm allergic to pork, I told them no tomatoes or onions on the tacos they had it on there with not much else....
