Market on 28th is a tiny, tiny spot but it has a really great vibe. The space is super small, maybe room for four people inside, but it feels cozy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and I even saw them hand a kid a sticker, which was a sweet little gesture that stuck with me. I had the chicken katsu and a roll, and both were pretty solid. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area and craving a quick bite. Only downside for me was the tip screen. The lowest suggested tip starts at 20% and goes up to 30%, which feels like a big ask for a mostly takeout-style spot with very limited seating. It’s easy to hit a button without noticing, so just something to be aware of. Overall, it’s a cool little local find with good food and good energy. I’d go back.

Market on 28th is a true hidden gem. Keanu was working by himself when i went, and yet he manages to be friendly and welcoming to everyone and make some of the best food/matcha. The place itself is so cute yet small and hidden. the matcha is hands-down the best I’ve had in Sac! i would come over any other cafes for just that. The food was just as amazing! made fresh, and definitely has the expertise and passion to make good food. you can tell there’s just such a positive vibe and def made my day better! 12/10 IGN have to try it! hopefully next time there more of a wait bc this place deserves more attention

As soon as I stepped inside, the atmosphere was filled with a light and airy ambiance, exuding a welcoming vibe. It was as if I had been magically transported to a charming spot in Japan. I savored the Taiwan fruit tea egg sandwich and the spam subi, both of which were incredibly delicious. For a quick bite, I also tried the Okinawa brown sugar latte, which was simply divine. I also would love to mention Keanu was amazing made my experience top-tier

Found this place randomly on a walk after a rough weekend of mental health struggles. Stopped in and ordered the Gyudon, Spam Musubi, and Tonkatsu sandwich. All three things were out of this world good!!! Truly a ray of sunshine in my day. I’ll be back for sure anytime I’m in the area. I was transported to my childhood when I would go across the street to my grandma’s house and she would spoil me with good Japanese food. Unfortunately I didn’t catch any photos because I hadn’t eaten in a while and I just dove right in. Not sad about it, but I’ll get some photos next time for sure. Worth every penny spent! Definitely more of a...

I ordered an egg sando on gluten free bread. We were asked to write down our own orders on an order pad, so I know that it was written down correctly. I received the sandwich on regular bread, and needed to go back to the cafe to get the sandwich with the correct bread. The employee apologized and refunded the sandwich, but this is still a big problem for anyone with dietary restrictions around gluten, and I don’t trust that my orders from here in the future will be gluten free. The cooler was also broken and the beverages were all room temp. I really like the concept of this place, but they seem to have a lot of kinks...
