Meet & Eat — Restaurant in Sacramento

Ate breakfast here this morning with my wife. The server gave the table in front of us my order of crispy hash brown Benedict. Not usually an issue for me personally, but it's against health code to not give the customer a fresh plate after making this mistake. During a global pandemic this is even more egregious. My poached eggs were essentially boiled, no runny yolk anywhere. The hash browns were only crispy on the outside, not cooked internally at all. Under done to the point that they tasted like raw potato. My wife enjoyed her breakfast tacos. I'm really glad she ordered them so I could actually eat something too. There must've been a shift change mid meal, as our server seemingly disappeared and we didn't see her anywhere in the restaurant. We waited for about 15 minutes after the table was cleared for our bill, this is when we finally figured out that someone we thought was a busser actually took over as our waiter. No communication at all, leaving us waiting for quite some time. My wife wouldve ordered another drink or two within the time they had us waiting but we weren't given the opportunity. The food was definitely subpar in my opinion, 3 stars or so on the food.. The real issue here came when I left my debit card by accident after finishing the meal. I noticed I had misplaced it about 2 hours after breakfast while trying to get gas. I checked my bank account to be sure I had actually paid for breakfast before going back to get my card from the restaurant. This is when I noticed they had charged my card, not only for the amount of breakfast but with an additional tip that was over 20%. My bill came out to $45 and some change, they charged my card for over $54. I almost always tip 20% when I dine in, I just clearly prefer to have the option myself, instead of the diner doing it without my knowledge or signature. Even if they thought I wasn't coming back, a hefty tip shouldn't have been added to the charges. Food wasn't great, but adding a tip and charging my card without my consent is downright fraudulent.

Edit: Management finally agreed to refund me for the charges. Only after saying "it happens", and that it was my fault "the table was left open" because I forgot my card. She claimed the extra charges were because they seated a new party where we had been, and their food had gone on my bill. Not only is this just simply an untrue excuse, but it's totally unacceptable regardless. When I returned to get my card, the tip spot, total amount, and signature were all empty as I had left them, yet my debit card had already been charged. Curious that the new party only had $9 worth of food. Oddly similar to the amount that a large tip...

My Daughter And I Visited For The Second Time, And It Just Made Me Love This Place Even More. We Set Out To A New Area And Found Ourselves Right Back Here. Coolest Part Is I Totally Have Photos This Time! So We Were Starving By The Time We Walked In. We Got Seated Immediately, Even Though They Were Clearly Busy. We Really Adored The Sweet Service From The Staff, Each And Every One Of Them. So With Hunger Pains We Decided On Extra Food To Share. Oh And Bless Them The Food Came Out So Fast And So Fresh! I Got The Best Western Burger Ever- Big Patty, Crispy Freshly Made Onion Rings, Their Own Signature BBQ Sauce That Was Delicious, Perfectly Cooked Bacon,Nice Cheese, All On An Excellent Made Bun. I Even Got Hot Fresh Fries With The Best Pickle I’ve Ever Had On The Side! My Daughter Got A Plain Burger With Fries, But She Enjoyed It, It Was A Goner. Then We Got A Birria Taco Dinner To Share, Which Came With 3 Large Portion Size Tacos With Excellent Melt In Your Mouth Meat, Great Cheese And The Right Amount Of Veggies. The Birria Sauce Was Especially Essential To Make You LOVE It! You Also Got Fresh Tortilla Chips, Pickled Onions And An Unbelievable Guacamole. They Even Had Very Pretty Looking Dessert, I’m So Sure It Was Exquisite Like Everything Else! We Were So Full And We Had A Lot Left To Take Home. I Was Surprised At How Much Food You Get, Totally Worth The Prices- Which Also Aren’t Too Bad. The Atmosphere Was Not What I Expected, I Thought With It Being So Close To The College And High School It Would Be Full Of Teens, Like The Loud Hangout Spot. I Was So Happy To Be Proven Wrong, Both Times. Very Mixed Crowd, Every Age, Just Wonderful Patrons, With Great Vibes All Around! I Definitely Recommend This Place, It Really...

Very disappointing. I had such high hopes based on the reviews for this establishment. Maybe Sundays aren’t the best days for a first try. I was seated within 30 minutes. Promptly served waters and even ordered drinks from the bar which were amazing. Noticed a Elderly woman and her adult daughter at the table besides me asking for a status update as she had been waiting over 45 minutes for their food. My table ordered our food and began conversation to pass the time. The staff did apologize as they were shortstaffed in the kitchen and orders were behind. We didn’t mind as we were enjoying being out. Fast forward an hour later, the elderly woman still hadn’t been served. The waiter stated he begged the cook to complete their order with no success. She was served half her order and it was cold 🥶. By this time Im worried about My tables order. Within 20 minutes, one by one our orders are brought out. ALL COLD. Luckily My Sister ordered a salad. I never in all My 36 years of life have been served cold food at a restaurant. At this point We accepted our loses and finished our meal. We felt guilty eating as the Elderly woman still had not been served. We paid our check for$118.00 and even left a $15.00 cash tip. I checked My bank account today and I was over charged by 14.50 from what My receipt 🧾 says. I definitely will not pay extra for cold food that I waited over an hour for. My experience was not stellar at all and honestly they should be paying Me for wasting My Sunday. I guess I’ll give the Mimosas...
