What more can be said..... This establishment has been around for a very long time way before it was barbecue and burgers Whenever I would drive by, I would see the big black smoker cooking up all kinds of delicious meats And all the years of driving by and smelling the wonderful aroma of smoked meat I never had the time to stop by Until today, because I promised my grandson I would go with him Wow! what a fabulous deliciousness of food None of it was oily or greasy and it all tasted very fresh The Ribs and Tri tip were tender and the Burger was cooked to perfection My compliments to the cook or cooks or chef because he or she knows what they're doing in the kitchen💪 We arrived around 4 PM, And there were 2 or 3 other tables with customers eating there We were seated immediately, given menus and within a few minutes our order was taken I should have timed it because it was under 15 minutes before everything we had ordered was bought to the table piping hot That was quick and nothing was cold except for the potato salad I would suggest going there on a weekday before 5 PM, if possible I'm sure that it fills up during the lunch and dinner hours especially on the weekends All of the young ladies there were amiable, approachable, courteous and attentive🙌 So different than when we went to the Delta King, which is supposed to be a high end establishment I'll be posting a separate review on that experience So getting back to the BBQ and Burgers.....🍔😋 The bathrooms were clean where we sat was clean all the tables and chairs and floors were clean the outside was clean Their customer service was exceptional, no masks required, dine in or take out available, no reservations needed, one Handicap parking space; however, there are several other parking spaces close to the building, inside and outside dining areas and they have good music playing in the background:) Take a look at the menu and you'll be able to see if there are any vegetarian options Everything I marked is because we ate it BBQ & Burgers were at Sac City College a few weeks ago during an open house, and they provided all the food I'm sure all the other items on the menu are just as good Next time I go, I'm taking the whole family with me ;) I'll make just one suggestion.....have Au Jus dip for the Tri-tip or maybe it's just my taste buds craving it :)

Almost Perfect: I consider myself to be a carnivorous connoisseur, and am almost always up for trying the local BBQ places of wherever life takes me. BBQ & Burgers is a rather bland title, but it belies perhaps some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Barbeque is a difficult tango. If the meat is lacking, there is rarely a sauce in the world to redeem it. If the sauce is lacking, you can eat the meat sans sauce, but then are you really eating BBQ as our ancestors intended? BBQ & Burgers hits them both magnificently. The brisket was tender but still held up well, the ribs were well-portioned with meat and had a good dry rub on them. Each a respectable protein in its own right. When paired with the sauce though...my tastebuds sang. The sauce is a wonderful ratio of smoky, sweet, a little salt, tang, and spice. I would clear out a grocery store were this stuff sold at Safeway or Raley's. Only complaint here was that the brisket was a bit lacking in quantity. I've I'm going to be paying an extra $2.00 for brisket, I feel some more would make the transaction more equitable. The bread roll was fine, nothing to write home about. The fries were good, not really crispy if that is your thing though solid flavor. My heart breaks over the Mac and Cheese though. And it is the reason BBQ & Burgers does not get a 5-star rating from me. It was a solid portion and was still nice and warm after I received it from delivery. The noodles had the right amount of firmness and give. Unfortunately, the taste was off from the start. There was a bit of spiciness which eclipsed the cheese flavor. I did not see black pepper so I was a little confused. I hesitantly took another bite, and found the culprit. Jalapeno, in the Mac and Cheese. Mac and Cheese ought to literally be just what is in the title. Nothing else, unless requested. My disappointment abounded, though was saved by the heavenly meat and sauce duo. Would definitely come back, but maybe just to get the meat and sauce only. The sides...unnecessary.

We like to visit new places during certain months. December is one of those months, since traveling to and from family members for the holidays is a time consuming matter. I have watched this place as the students at Sacramento city college and the take out crowds are consistent and large. There is also a stage for live music and large screen TV's for sporting events. IMHO the food is good to just ok. Portions for bbq are modest. I ordered a plate of 2 meats (there is an option for 3 meats). You can order chicken, pulled pork, hot links, brisket, ribs and tri-tip. The last three meats can only be ordered on the 3 item plate option. I ordered the hot links and pulled pork. The pulled pork needed some vinegar marinade. I am use to North Carolina and Texas pulled pork. The hot link was good and spicy, but there was only 1. Portions were lacking for price. My wife ordered the chicken and pulled pork. The sides she selected were the baked beans and potato salad. I sampled both the sides. The baked beans were unique. A cross between regular baked beans and sweet bbq sauce added. The potato salad was homemade. Big chunks of potato with a nice mix of onion, celery and mayo and other items. My sides were grilled asparagus (premium item add 2.00) and a salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Hot bread/buns were included. Drinks include fountain and beer In all an ok experience. One of the big drawbacks was unlike other bbq restaurants, they only offered two different types of bbq sauce, smokey bbq and a spicy sauce. Both were good though. The spicy bbq sauce having lots of kick.

Man, I got to tell you. The burger I ordered was good. But here's the problem. I ordered a mushroom burger, with a side salad. Now, on the menu, for the salad, it says vinaigrette or Ranch. The waitress didn't ask which i wanted. Not a big deal. But I prefer ranch. So after the food was brought over, with vinaigrette, I politely went to the front, then to the waitress, with the vinaigrette in hand, and politely asked for ranch. The waitress told me it would be an extra charge. Really? Okay. So I sat back down. Not a big deal. My wife, politely took the vinaigrette, and kindly stated to the staff that we would prefer ranch. The look they gave her, was, well, unnecessary. Like they had to talk about it. Or like we were trying to "get over" them by getting something for free. I was with my wife and daughter, and we all ordered a plate. I'm typing this as I wait for the bill. But the bill will be, I'm sure, around $50 or more. Very Unfortunate. I wanted to come back and try something else as I live close by, now. Oh, well. Quick Update: So, I just talked to my wife, and she said that as she was talking to the kind cashier behind the counter, the waitress, was also there, to the side and the waitress "rolled" her eyes at my wife's request. Also unnecessary. Customer service is very important.

This place has improved significantly since the new owners took over. It was once called Burgess Brothers and it had to have been the worst BBQ place in town then. The restaurant was very clean and the food was very good. I had the 2 meat plate with the hot link and the ribs. Sides were mac n cheese and potato salad. They have BBQ sauce separate which I like. There was sweet and smoked. Both very good. The mac n cheese had a little spiciness to it. I like it. It's different. The link was good but a little mushy inside. I'm a texture person so that was a draw back but it was good and i ate all of it. Nice spicy level to it as well. Enjoyable and tasty, not burning your mouth and miserable. The potato salad was potato salad. Good, but similar to many others I've had. The ribs were good. Smokey taste, tender, and the meat came away clean off the bone. Overall, it was a very good experience. The total for my meal was a hair over 20 bucks. 1 link, 3 ribs, 2 sides, a roll, and a drink. I think for the price the portion is a little small. That's the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars. But aside from that, very good food.

I ordered the Pulled Pork Salad. I appreciated how the meat was set off to the side so you can choose to eat it with the salad, or not - and the pulled pork was delightful. The salad was also good, the strawberries, apples, and spring mix all taste very fresh. At $15 It’s a bit steep for how much you get, but it’s undeniably quality food. The service was… okay. I’ll let this slide on the review because another employee was able to help me, but the person that rang up my order did not seem to have a very good idea of her restaurant’s portion sizes and didn’t ask which dressing I wanted (the menu states you have to choose) and I had to later remind her after forgetting myself. Not a huge deal which is why I’m still leaving 5 Stars. The atmosphere is also nice, both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are enjoyable. Overall a good experience and I will definitely continue eating here.
