I recently had an incredible dining experience at Namaste Natomas Indian Cuisine in Sacramento, CA, and I can't wait to share my enthusiasm! From the moment we arrived, Shankar, the manager, and Kiran, our waiter, took exceptional care of us.
First and foremost, their South Indian buffet is hands down the best in the Natomas area, and surprisingly affordable at just $16.00 + taxes. I kicked off my meal with the Punugulu served with peanut chutney, and it was an explosion of flavors! The Punugulu were perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly soft and fluffy on the inside, making it hard for me to resist having more.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the fresh, hot Naan that arrived straight to our table. I paired it with the Channa Masala and Navrattan Korma, and let me tell you, it was pure bliss for my taste buds! The Naan was delightfully crispy, and the Navrattan Korma had just the right balance of spices, creating a heavenly combination.
I also indulged in their Veg Biryani with Raita, which was another winner. The flavors were authentic, and the freshness of the ingredients truly shined through. I couldn't resist trying some of their pickles, and they added a delightful kick to the meal.
What impressed me the most was that every dish was cooked just like it would be at home—perfectly spiced without being overly oily, and everything tasted incredibly fresh.
The service was outstanding; we were seated promptly, and our needs were attentively taken care of throughout the meal. I didn't have to wait long to pay either, which was a pleasant surprise.

The entree was served with rice and was so yummy, I requested to make it spicy. Thali is like a sampler of different dishes. For extra $5, thali includes Naan bread ×1 and 5 smaller containers of various dishes. These are just teasers, very small portions, but I wish they had labels on each container, so I know which ones to get a full entree next time. :) +upped to 5 stars
The place just opened last week. Tried their lunch buffet for $15.99. A lot of dishes to choose from, mostly vegetables and/or chicken dishes. I wasnt able to try everything on the buffet but I really liked the butter chicken, veggie biryani, and chana masala. The tandoori chicken tasted good as well but I got there pretty late (almost 2pm and buffet closes at 2:30pm) and the tandoori was a little on the dry side. Of course, the freshly made dosa and Naan were really good. I also liked one dish, but can't remember the name, it's fried dough with some sort of sweeten and mushed veggie inside( reminds me of Chinese sweet buns, just deep fried)
I didn't see any spinach paneer, gulab jamun, or mango/tamarind chutney in the buffet table, so just a tad disappointed. But, overall, the first experience was great
If trying the buffet, come a little earlier to enjoy more...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER TO GO! I've eaten at the restaurant a few times and it's been great but the other night my partner and I decided to get it to go and had a very unfortunate experience. Now I was expecting the portions to be on the small side (like in the restaurant) which weve been fine with because the quality and flavor of the food has been great but the $15 dollar chicken dish we got literally had three 1-2 inch sized chicken chunks and our other $13 chicken dish had about four or five which is just unacceptable when paying that much. Also, the $15 dish came in a container that was half the size of the other cheaper dish. We also ordered the kofta biryani, and while the rice tasted fine, the kofta was just about inedible. The kofta was way over seasoned, salty, and extremely mushy. Really wish it was a better experience since we've previously only had great things to say about this place, but this has completely turned our opinions around. I probably won't be back for a while, and I will never order food to go...
