The truth is, I had high expectations for this place, but I was greatly disappointed. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty (first red flag). It was clean and tidy, which was the only positive aspect. My husband ordered a burrito, and my daughter ordered the kids' platter with a soft taco. I ordered the steak plate and a horchata.
When our dishes arrived, they didn't look very appealing at first glance. The meat in my dish (tongue) was crumbled, overcooked, and lacked seasoning. The beans and rice were unimpressive, and the tortillas were terrible. My daughter's plate had just one taco with rice and beans, while the burrito contained more rice and cheese than meat. The green sauce was very watery and not spicy at all. What bothers me the most is that we paid a high price for food that honestly shouldn't cost that much. I don’t think I will return to this place, as it doesn’t offer authentic Mexican food. I hope they make changes, because they won’t last long if they continue to serve such...
Read moreThe service wasn't bad. The gentleman that took our order was extremely nice, and the place looked clean. I ordered some steak and chicken tacos, and my wife ordered shrimp tacos. Some were crispy, and some were soft, and I will tell you that the tortillas are not authentic and the meat had no flavor to them. I'm really disappointed and would recommend them to at least buy their tortillas from a local Mexican market because it's currently being purchased from a commercial grocery store. We saw the stacks of Guerrero packages! Really had high hopes for this place because it's named a taqueria, but it's giving Taco Bell vibes. The experience didn't meet the expectations. I hope they consider making a few adjustments in the future because there are really good Mexican restaurants in the area that serve as huge...
Read moreMy Partner and I tried this new restraunt in our neighborhood. I was impressed with how friendly the staff was and the food was amazing. I ordered my favorite dish, Chile Verde plate, and will be going back in the near future. When the waiter brought out our food he let me know that they had come close to running out of Chile Verde and wanted to also get me another item off the menu of my choosing. Even though my Chile Verde was a large and full dish I was imporessed that they went above and beyond to make sure we our food was both good and enough. My partner ordered the Nachos with meat and all the toppings. We had enough food for leftovers that night. This will be our new go to taqueria. Good job La Puerta and WELCOME to the neighborhood. We are glad...
