I like pokey and so it's natural that I went here to eat.
The service was excellent and the lady behind the counter was very patient. I don't know or understand all the toppings; so, I had a lot of questions and she was able to put together a nice dish.
The food tasted good. It wasn't the greatest, but it was good.
The reason for the two stars is: when I got to the bottom of my water, I noticed there were many small, black particles in it. This kind of grossed me out because I noticed that even the water was starting to change color. As the water level got lower, the particles became more noticeable and the water turned noticeably blueish-black. This really grossed me out and I showed this to the person behind the counter. They told me they didn't know what it was and that their management was already aware. They also said that nobody called in sick so they came to the conclusion it is probably safe to drink.
Let me make this clear, if there's a possibility that something dangerous is in the water, regardless if folks have gone to the hospital or called to let them know they got sick, it is not acceptable to continue serving the water. You need to shut down the machine and call a professional to check on it.
The problem with little things like this is where does it end? Are they using this water to clean their equipment? Are they using this water in the food? I don't like the idea that safety is jeopardized for the sake of making a few bucks (or at least this is my perception). I hope they fix this issue because it ruined my experience and I just feel weird knowing I drank something that I don't...
Read moreThis is my second time at Poke Noke and I have to say that their food has gotten better since my first bowl! I opted for a "small" today (3 scoops of protein vs the 5 scoops in a large) because its a lot of food. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and the service friendly.
I like that they have a good variety of toppings, and they don't charge based on the number you get (unlike a lot of other poke places). Toppings include pickled radish, wakame, green onions, daikon, jalapenos, fruits, fried garlic or shallows etc. You can also get extras like avocado, crab salad or spicy tuna for an extra $1 but its a generous portion. Their spicy tuna is spicy! Just like I like it--a nice kick to it.
Their prices are completely reasonable considering the amount of food you get and the quality.
The service is quick and friendly, and the dining space is light and modern.
Try them out! A great addition to the...
Read moreOrdered a set of handrolls and spam Masubi. I'm usually a creature of habit ordering the three every time even though you raised the price 30%.
Today I thought you forgot my requested Wasabi. Nope. That is now an upcharge. I paid it the last 50cents you will get from me.
This is absurd. Who eats sushi without Wasabi. It is a cheap stunt that cost you a customer.
Bugger off.
The Spicy Tuna hand roll was once packed with tuna. Now it is a handful of rubbery rice and a meager scoop of fish.
Spam Masubi is a Hawaiian delicacy, rice & fried spam in a seaweed wrap but certainly not worth what you charged.
I used to be your regular. Now that you treat customers like crap I will go elsewhere and avoid the Myiagi Sushi Bar down the street. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL MIKUNI OPENS ADVERTISING THE STREET FROM BOTH OF YOUR STORES.
This review is what it looks like when you take loyal customers...
